soooooooooooooo easy a caveman can do it... guess im dumber than a caveman cuz i cant get the stupid P R N D plate to come off, ended up scratching the thing cuz my flathead screwdriver cut through my towel

Just put the car in N or D (parking brake!) pull up on the back end of the console(by the cup holders), pull it back from t the ashtray end of the console, CAREFULLY disconnect all yer console switch connectors, then lift and separate!

The shift plate has 3 screws on the underside that secure it to the console.. pull the plate, slip it into the boot, line up the three holes with the bottom of the boot, screw it back on the console and reverse the first three steps.. and yer done! (yes.. that simple!)

BTW.. be VERY careful with these connectors... secret clips that keep them together.. (don't try to muscle them off!)

after thinking about it... and scratching my console up a crap ton... starting to realize i need to unscrew like... everything, under the steering wheel, and under the glovebox first dont i

You shouldn't need to take off anything else really....

nope... the console pops out by hand... you might need a tiny flathead screwdriver to get the connectors off.. and of course a phillips to get the shifter plate off.. but nothing else needs to come off...
