^ LOL! great minds think alike!
okay, how did the marriage process (whatever's) go? i plan to stay away from being pwned in front of the judge, or in a vegas chapel. something where i can actually invite more than just immediate family. maybe around 300 people, maybz less. do you know any good planners, locations (preferably on oahu. outer isles are okay though)? i know these aren't cheap either, but how could i keep the costs at an attractive price level? hook me up with some tips. photographers/media people....i got that covered, lol.

Any hotel in Waikiki will work. I had mine at Prince, but Ihilani is a nice place to have it at, it's outside of the hustle of Waikiki and it has that outer island feel to the place. 300 people...damn that's gonna cost ya. Figgure around $100/head if you get an open bar. To keep the cost down, do a lunch instead of dinner. I know Saturdays and Sundays are always popular but if you get the ballroom on a weekday that's a big savings too, not really a good option tho if you're having a lot of guests.
^ what he said
Yeah per head cost is gonna be killers from what we looked at decent costs would start at $50 per person. Mandarin charges $80 per with a minimum depending on day (18k for a saturday, 8k or so for a sunday). I tried out the Mandarin's food but I was really disapointed I even paid for a second tasting and still the food was blah. One of the main things I wanted out of our wedding was great food.
Don't for get engagement ring, wedding ring and sufferRING.
that's some big bucks too but it's worth it if your fiance loves jewelry lol... lots of people love my gf's ring because it shines soo much. Hell lol i'm looking at her wedding band right now, I picked it up last month.

yeah, i'm hawaiian, so i get the mean lauhala rings. yeah, i figure hold off on modding to get the rings, then secretly misplace them, and get an LS, or Skyline, lOL.
food quality is definitely a concern. just because a place is expensive doesn't mean the food is great. i did like the Ihilani food though. plus, they have a huge grassy area just by the beach. at sunset, it's to die for.

oh yeah, forgot. get a package deal with the wedding and reception at the hotel. it's save you a little and it's a whole lot easier then having to travel from a church to a hotel. Usually they give you a free room too. The meals are not the only cost to consider, don't forget the bar tab that is going to be killer. Some places let you bring in your own drinks so ask about that.
The Ocean Crystal Chapel at Hilton Hawaiian Village looks classy...
