Visiting Hawaii for the first time.
Visiting Hawaii for the first time.
Hey guys I figured I ask the people that know best.
My wife and I are going to be going to Hawaii next month. We're looking for a nice relaxing time, not too much of the busy touristy stuff. Although I would like to see the Memorial and stuff like that.
We're looking at Kona, and then Maui. We've done research and found some places that look nice...
So what do any of you reccomend?? Maybe I can actually meet a few of you when we're over there and see some of the sick Hawaii G's in person.
Thanks!

Well in all honesty if your looking for a quite relaxing time then go to Molokai. One road around the whole island, last time I visited there wasn't even a mcdonalds. Oh and also the most stars I have ever seen in my life, not like here on Oahu. We stayed at a Beach Resort (Probably the only resort/hotel on the whole island) which was nice only thing is we had to bring our own food.
well on the Big Island (Kona) you have gotta visit Mauna Kea observatory, the highest place in the state. Its 15,000 feet in elevation and the view is unreal. Pack a bag of unopen potato chips on the drive up and watch them explode from the lack of atmospheric pressure. Also visit the national volcano park. Drive down to south point and go to the windmill farm it's so sureal to hear and see them. Head up north to Waimea area, it's so green and cool in that area. There is so much diversity in the climate on this island.
Plan to stay at least 3 days on the Big Island, cause every thing is so spaced out you'll literally spend hours driving.
Maui is a little more touristy, but the sunrise on Haleakala has got to be seen. Plan on leaving your hotel early, cause it's a long *** drive to the top.
Oahu nothing really special here, just the typical city. As you noted check out the Arizona Memorial, USS Missouri, Diamond Head lookout, north shore, yokohama beach, hanauma bay....
Kauai is an old school town, nothing exciting here just nature, go see our grand canyon, Waimea Canyon. Just drive the island and take in nature.
