This kinda stuff really gets my blood boiling and a
good reason for me to add a shock sensor to my
factory alarm system. Parts are only $25 and that's
cheap insurance.....they won't tow my G....I hope!!
all i know is that hawaii has a high auto theft rate. trillions of chop shops as well. ask any officer here in hawaii, they know cars get stolen left and right here.

That's why I invested in LoJack. I used to drive a Civic (which did get stolen and broken into 2x) so the piece of mind was worth it for me. Plus I get an insurance discount. =) You never know with some peeps in SoCal...

Some dumb **** stole the damn car in front of their house in Salt Lake, Moanalua I think they lived! How the **** did they break in, and drove off the freakin' car??????? How???? **** me! I got an 05 coupe, and I got an open garage. Anybody smart enough to explain how did they steal it. All I could think of is that they towed the whole car!!
I thought people here only steal Honda's or Acura's! I guess they filed a police report, and still missing. Watch out fellas for those who don't have an enclosed garage. Keep an eye on your G! I'm pissed!

WTF!! that's where i live...

^^ Here's a snippet from that link Praxxis put up.

"The team claims that stealing a cryptographic key requires standing next to the victim and broadcasting a series of challenges to the key and capturing the responses. The team says an iPod-sized device would suffice to steal the cryptographic key in under a second. A workaround is available — car owners concerned about this problem are advised to wrap their keys in tinfoil when not in use."

So everyone go out and buy some Reynolds foil.

^^^^^^
if you have a ECU with a matching key you can switch out the ECU and start the car since the ECU and key act together...

I've seen a ex-coworker start a friends M45 with a bmw Key programmer and a laptop. These things are easy. My computer geek friend can open my garage door with my bose stereo remote control. Too many people have too much time on they're hands.
