Hello all. I'm thinking trading in my 04 coupe for possibly a Lexus IS 350. My car is in perfect condition with only 10000 miles. It has a few mods but is basically stock. The blue book trade in value is 26000 for excellent condition and 21000 for fair. Lexus is only offering me 20000 for my car. I've never traded in a car before, is this what I can expect? I rather trade it in than deal with selling it outside. Any information will be appreciated.

yes, this is what you can expect. it's always like this with a dealer. you have to expect to get about $5k + less than what kbb/you feel it's worth. it's just the way it is.

however, if you're a hustler, you can get them to trade as close as possible to your kbb value. it's time consuming, but worth it in the end.

i don't know what kind of options the IS350 has, but i would rape them of every factory options and package for that price of the trade in.

what mods do you have? maybe you could make some cash on here, since i don't think lexus would really care if you took some mods out.

 

my car is basically stock. got the oem 19's and the 4080 box. if I do trade it in, I'm planning to take the box and amp out. if they're not willing to deal then I'm just gonna keep the car. Ive been checking out the Lexus message boards and this one is hands down the best! Another reason to keep the g!

Only selling the box if I sell the car. Looks like Im keeping the car though. Lexus doesnt want to negotiate on the car. Might consider selling the car myself. You guys know anyone looking for a coupe?
