Defiantly head for the north shore away from the tourists.

I really liked the Polynesian Cultural Center, I thought it would be touristy but it turned out to be worth the time and money.

So much to see that doesn't cost also: Blow Hole, Hanauma Bay, China Town, Pali Lookout, Byodo-In Temple, Aloha Bowl swap meet, etc...

You have to try the North Shore shaved ice and some Spam Musibi.

Great Thanks guys now I have a hankering for ox tail soup. I guess I'll have to take out a small loan today and go buy some from Kapiolani Coffee shop in Waimalu.

Kam Bowl would be the place on Oahu.

Snorkeling would be Hanauma Bay, but with it being summer, the summer swells might make the water pretty dirty. Sharks Cove is a ho-hum kind of experience, more geared towards SCUBA diving.

my bad, i thought you meant like happy ending type stuffs.

Germaines Luau is cool. the hawaiian food is pretty geez. my other half used to dance tahitian there. and yes, Kam Bowl gots the good Oxtail Soup. if i were you, i'd bring the biggest pot with you and fill it up. i do that all the time. a reasonably priced, great tasting japanese buffet is Hakone in the hawaii prince hotel. a great japanese restaurant in waikiki is Kyo-ya. Ruth's Chris steakhouse in Restaurant Row gotsta bomb steak too. The Chart House has awesome oyster rockefeller, and Escargot.
