the mrev2 does that come with the spacer or do i gotta buy it seperately and whats the better one to run 5/16 or 1/2 cuz i plan going FI later so I heard it 's helps with the FI and wheres good place to get em for the cheapest price? i wanna get both the lower intake thingy and the spacer stuff. I see alot of add ons or whatever but i wanna get a complete kit. any ideas?

get the isothermal thermal plenum gasket. you dont need the copper gasket, we will never see freezing temeratures.

what the copper thermal conductor does is warm up the throttle body in places where the climate is cooler. in the kit, there is a throttle body coolant blockoff you can open or close. what that does is keep the coolant from getting into the throttle body for a cooler charge. the iso thermal gasket reduces heat transfer from the bottome plenum to the upper plenum.

you can get the kit with the mrev using the bottom manifold, supposedly you'll gain more velocity that way, paving more power. but your power might come up short in the higher rpms. supposedly because of the plenum design of the 03/04 reflecting on the 05/06.

I went with the 1/2" spacer for performance reasons. off the bat there was a ton of midrange. WOT stomps pushed me back in my seat. Now I'm so used to it, I can't tell any more. you'll lose the engine cover too.

just get the iso thermal mrev plus or with the mrev2 combo. for us 05+ is 5/16. it's worth it.

^ yea idk, i talked with the guy from MD (forget his name already) and he basically said that 1/2 make a couple more hp at high rpms, and i didn't really care if i couldn't used the engine cover. why? why not on an 05?

1/2 inch spacer user on 05+, ...well that's the first.

when me and herb bought the original mrev when it first came out, it came with the 03-04 lower plenum & 5/16" spacer... i notice now that they sell it seperately... so u have to buy both the mrev2 and your choice of spacer... here is the results from the tests they did with the mrev, mrev w/ 5/16" spacer & mrev w/ 1/2" spacer... they concluded that the mrev w/ a 5/16" spacer was overall better than the mrev w/ a 1/2" spacer.

"The First experimental test was simply a 287 collector on the REVUP engine. No other mods.
Results: Exactly as predicted. Much more power below 5.5K and a significant loss of about 20HP above 6K.

The Second test was a 287 collector and 5/16" Iso Thermal Plenum Spacer on the REVUP. No other mods.
Results: Much more power below 6K and a loss of about ~6HP above 6.3K. It was interesting to note that TQ was down very slightly from the 287 collector alone but HP in the high end was up substantially.

The Third test was a 287 collector and 1/2" Iso Thermal Plenum Spacer on the REVUP. No other mods.
Results: A mixed surprise. Yes, it produced about 2HP more peak HP in the high end than the 5/16" spacer but it also produced less total area under the curve than the 5/16" spacer. It lost quite a bit of TQ across a wide range of RPM.

Conclusion: Of the 3 configurations tested, the 5/16" spacer clearly produced more area under the curve than any other configuration. Its max TQ was only slightly less than no spacer at all and its max HP was only slightly less than the 1/2" spacer. Despite the fact that it didn't produce the highest peak TQ or HP, 5/16" produced more power across a wider range than anything else. And it produced a lot more power than the stock REVUP collector. When you consider the trade of power loss above 6300 Vs the power gain below 6000, the modification produces a 12:1 gain in TQ and a 7:1 gain in HP. (a really good trade.)"
