Amsoil

Some say Amsoil is the best engine oil brand for our G's besides the oil they used at the dealer. Agree?? And if it is where can I buy it? And what oil grade should I get? ( 10W30-10W40-5W30 etc..) How much per quart?

yea, i've heard amsoil is good, havn't even seen it anywhere, maybe at daiei? i know they got royal purple... get either 5w30 or 10w30, infiniti says 5w30, but ppl say the in warmer temps it good to use 10w30, i'm using 10w30, and ppl say that the car feels more torquy.

Amsoil is too hyped up, as well as Royal Purple. Buy Motul...I would buy them from the mainland and have them freight fowarded over since most vendors cant ship them directly. They're pricey...but they're the BEST!

www.amsoil.com

I got one from them, part no. EAA74

they shipped it really fast. I like the fact that it's not an oil based filter, I know some Members said they had problems with the MAF sensor with the K&N.

How did we go from talking about engine oil to air filters?

i have heard nothing but GREAT things about Amsoil products hence i ordered mine. should be here by the end of the week.. i'll let u guys know how it goes (bone stock rightnow, putting in Z-tube and EAA74 airfilter from Amsoil)!
got Amsoil sync, amsoil oil filter and air filter (K&N is too much trouble).

im going with the XLF 5W30 grade oil..which is guaranteed to last at least7500 miles. thought about getting the ASL SAE oil, which is guaranteed for 25,000 miles or one year (insane).. and i have heard that THAT is better than any Mobile 1 you can get AND they price bout the same. however, no one really buys them cuz no one ever wait for that long to change oil.. altho from independent oil test/lab results, it's proven that Amsoil DO live up to their promises.
only annoying thing about Amsoil is you have to order them online.. or you can try to find a dealer nearest you.
my buddy carries Amsoil XLF oil at his bodyshop..so that wont be too much of a trouble i guess..
as for my oil filter and air filter, had to order them but the warehouse is in Richmond so that's not too far away. hopefully wont take too long. was told should get my stuff in 2 to 3 biz days.

I think it goes something like...some people have reported oil buildup from their K&N filter getting into their system causing some probs? something along those lines i think.

i consider cleaning my air filter every couple months pretty annoying and troublesom.. dont u?
with Amsoil, you can just drop it in and forget about it for like 100k or something..whatever they guarantee the life of it to be. plus, from what i have heard, Amsoil is just as good, if not better, than K&N filter.. minus the "trouble"

Amsoil is pretty awesome stuff. I haven't done a full oil change in 20,000 miles. At 12,500 miles, they recommend that you change the oil filter and add a quart of oil so, I did that and I haven't had any problems. Their filters are better than most of the others on the market because they filter down to something rediculously tiny...on the order of 8 microns or something. I'm running 0W-30 and get about 21 mpg average in the city. For those that are leary of leaving their oil in for that long, you can also have oil analysis testing done through Amsoil or Blackstone Labs.
