Dealer Prices....?!!

I have an 05 coupe with the 19'in OEM wheels. I noticed that the rear tires are bald, but the front ones are still good so I called up the dealer and gave me a quote: $328.00 per tire for the rear, and $319.00 per tire up front!!! So the total came out to $1300 plus tax and labor. Are these tires really that expensive??? Is there a tire shop out there where I can get these cheaper instead? My car is all stock so why did my rear tires get balder faster than the front ones? Is it because the car is a rear wheel drive?

Got my tires from tirerack.com, had them shipped directly to Goodyear for installation. Much cheaper than what the dealership quoted me.

Go thru tirerack shipping last I checked was an additional 100 dollars I called them up because I didn't believe the shipping was correct and they told me no... it's $100.00 your tires are wider in the rear so you can't rotate them so your rear tires will wear quicker than your fronts. I can't remember if the rear rims on the 05 are the same size at all 4 corners but with wider tires or if that was the 03 thru 04 models that came that way but someone else can answer that question. If the rim is the same size then buy tires that are the same size for all 4 rims and rotate your tires every other oil change so your tires wear evenly.

Tires are some $$$ once you get up past 17". Seems about right to me unless you have some connections.

what the heck are you people talking about? call ntw, dicount tire, merchants, mr tire, kimmel, etc.. call them and ask f they can match, or come close to tire rack prices. most places will give you a discount off msrp and be fairly cmpetitive with online prices.

example: purchased 2 275/35/19 bridgestone 050a's for $249 each mounted and balanced from the local firestone retailer.

call around, dealer prices are very expensive, or you can call Samson at Revision.

Discount Tire:
19" Michelin PS2 are $337 front tire and $300 rear tire.

Tire Rack:
19" Michelin PS2 are $328 front tire and $291 rear tire.
19" Bridgestone RE050A are $247 front tire and $263 rear tire.
19" Pirelli PZero Rosso are $315 front tire and $352 rear tire
19" Yokohama Advan Sport are $318 front tire and $323 rear tire.

Need to add costs for dismount, mount, balance, & dispose. Don't know what shipping is for the tires. Depending on the manufacturer, prices can vary greatly.
