Motherfcukin Rock Landed On My Motherfcuking Hood

Yah that's right. And for all you photo ****** who want to see pictures...TOO BAD. You'll be able to see it plenty this Sunday. I supposed on the flipside the good thing is that it could have been worse but it wasn't. The hurling piece of debris chucked at me by a dump truck probably could have been bigger. I had at first thought it cracked my windshield as I heard a loud snap, but upon further inspection it looks like my windshield escaped unscathed. Unfortunately two one inch long scratches were left on the front left section of my hood. "Fawk" was all I had to say about that. One of them is down to the bare metal. At least the hood is aluminum and it won't rust. I had immediate thoughts of having my hood resprayed as I've already accumulated a handful of tiny chips and and dings in the 7 or so months I've owned the car but after some advice from a friend I said "**** it." It'll only happen again, it ain't the end of the world, my car's doors have also been dinged up by fat people who park too close, my front bumper had it out with a cardboard box on the H1, it's a lease, I could go on forever. I suppose the points that stick out most are "it's a lease and it'll eventually go back" and "it'll only happen again with the amount of driving I do."

Then again, I suppose I could always go aftermarket right? Nah nah nah.

Damn...if you only knew ahead of time. My girlfriend used to work for an insurance company who dealt with this kind of thing. One case was with a transport company and a claim filed against them. It was because that person who filed a claim...pulled the vehicle over and told the driver what happend, at the same time called the police to filed a report. There after that person contacted my girlfriend's company and filed the claim and paid that person out for the damages.

Like I wrote...if you only knew. Next time.

Nah, wouldn't have helped. Had about 4 trucks on the road (was coming from Kapolei). I'm almost positive it came from one of them but good luck on my part finding out which truck was the source of the debris. I even did a good job of hanging back so as to not get too close. Perhaps I should have been drafting one of em so the debris would fly up and over. If I knew where it came from I would have gotten close enough to grab tags but since I didn't see whatever it was that hit me until it was about an inch from my windshield there's no way I'd be able to prove who it was. Simply put... s**t happens. Just gotta roll with it.
