Injen CAI in Hawaii

any of you hawaii guys running the injen CAI? is it ok to use it full length or should i get it installed as short ram to avoid problems with water getting into the system? the g is my daily driver, and if it makes any difference i'll also be installing the seibon TS hood at the same time.

as long as you don't submerge the filter, there will be no problems. 1 ex G driver hydrolocked his motor, but he drove through the freeway floods, and submerged the filter.

IMO, with Hawaii's unpredicatable weather...I'd go with the Short Ram. I know a handful of people who had them in their Z who have hydrolocked their engine with the use of a CAI.

I have it in short ram, but CAI is fine as long as you dont submerge it in water

I never had any problems with my Nismo CAI and water/puddles. It also had the bypass on it.

The only problem I had was the dyno showing a Z-tube made a bigger increase in hp and on 1 G the Nismo made it lose hp over stock.

Thanks for the info and the suggestions, I think I'm going to go for the short ram configuration just to be safe, especially with the rain I get sometimes coming down the Pali.
