Question Looking for assistance? 04 Gc

Story:

So I get home from work early today. eat lunch with my wife and go to pick up my son from school. my wife wanted to use the G since she does drive manual she doesn't ride in it much, well anyway. I get there turn it off like any other day step outside for a smoke. get back in and my battery dies?

Possiblities?

I think maybe my battery won't hold a charge, so I jump it with my wife's SUV get home and so far so good. I don't get it how can a 5 min break cause my battery to kill over, but 6 hrs at work is fine? not even a check light? weak battery light?

Its been 12 hours now and it starts fine. Just don't get it.

Q.s:

I still have about 3 yrs of warrenty, is my battery covered? I heard theres like deductible at the dealer for them to even look under the hood so is that a rumor? Should I just buy a new battery and skip the deductible?

Sorry for naive thread any adice would be great.

Battery is not covered. If you have to get one, it's definitely cheaper getting it from Sears or else where. Can't remember how much dealership charged me last time, but I know it was too much.

If you have Costco or Sam's Club card then get it from there, it's much cheaper.
