03/04 model head units have issues with CD's. It's possible the original owner screwed it up by using sub-standard CD's, but I think it's probably just a ****ty changer.

I'd call IoH and see if they might be able to help you out with swapping out the head units, if not then you might want to do the double DIN conversion and ditch that piece 'o crap.

........as far as the trunk switch......why? The 03/04 trunks should be the same unless one has a spoiler on it.

^+1 on the changer issue, VERY common unfortunately

The fans are pretty loud but they don't kick on too often.

I thinik those problems occur more with burnt cd's, but some have been known to happen with regular cd's. I think it cost about 600.00 for a swap with a reman unit at the dealer...

the 2003 G's have what i believe are a clutch fan... which means it is connected to the block kinda like the GM V-8's are... when the clucth heats up, the fan comes on!

i believe 2003.5 models were changed to an electric fan mounted on the radiator! that would probably explain the whole fan noise!

Mine died with original "record label" CDs in it. No DVD-R, DVD-RW, etc

03/04 both had the same issues. Some units had the problem some didn't...........it's purely dis-luck of the draw.
