Sup everyone, went to HRP tonight w/ a few friends, i was hoping to see some G's there but I guess I was the only one there to represent. It wasn't busy at all. I ran consistent 14.4's all night. Is this normal for the track here in Hawaii? I really didn't know what times to expect. Just wonderin' what everyone averages in the 1/4 mile. The guys there said the tracks were slippery tonight. 14.4 with an auto is actually very good. The 6MT coupes are running about 14.4-14.7 on a decent night. The autos have been running about 14.9-15.2 on the Friday nights. Are you the one with G-Sharp? If so i see you all over the place.

wassop, daddylongstroke. i was just wondering how did you launch your car? do you hold down the brake and press the gas at the same time? what rpm do you launch at? i have an auto 350z and have not yet raced it, although on the z forum people have been getting 13's with their stock 350z autos. i doubt i will get anywhere near that.

do you leave it in full auto, or do you manually shift it? sorry for all the questions.

since you said that wednesdays are empty at the track, i may check it out next week. dont want to make a fool out of myself in front of too many people.

Well, I was wearing shorts that night so the lady at the entrance told me I couldn't race. (You need pants) I wasn't expecting to run that night but I was getting called out by a subaru so I let my brother-in-law take it down the track. I told him to launch it at 2500 while brake tourqing. i also set it up so that the ECU was reset right before the runs. VDC off. I showed him how to use the manumatic mode and he shifted at about 6300 rpm. The G ran 14.4's all night. I didn't know what to expect cuz it was my 1st time at the track w/ the G. The subaru got the jump on all the launches but the G pulled like crazy in 2nd and 3rd gear until the end. The Suby was runnin 14.9 - low 15's. Only had about 12 cars total that night. My friends wanna hook up again, so if you're there on wednesday I'll keep an eye out for a drop top Z. (Geez I hope the track is open) Peace - Bobby

went to the tracks tonight. saw a subaru wagon, not sure if that was your friend... didnt see you. you werent there, were you? was my first time, didnt know what i was doing, but had fun. best time was a 14.8. i wish i had a manual tranny. maybe i was shifting too late? dont know. let me know when you are going again.

went tracks again tonight. saw your friend josh and some other guys. he said you were coming, but i didnt see you. got my time down to 14.7 @94. 60 ft was 2.1. i dont know what to do to get the 60's lower.

didnt see any other g's tonight and the only other z was my friend. had that guy from the 240sx club though. anywayz.

Wassup man! Hey your 60 ft is better than mine! hehe. I couldn't get less than 2.2, maybe we need better tires? I dunno. I wans't there last night cuz i had to go to work. I probably won't go til the end of the month cuz my schedule is crazy at Straub! I will let you know the next time i hit it up. BTW, what was josh's times?

 

i dont know what josh's times were. i was talking with him before he started racing. had two other subarus join up with him after. one wrx and one sti i believe.

i wasnt expecting a better 60 foot time because the road was a bit wet, so i was happy. i think next time i will try to let out some air from my tires. see if that does anything.

oh, i am not sure yet, but i am probably going to rotate over to straub the week after next. tues-thurs. i will be doing my clinical rotation there for 3 months in the ultrasound department. k-den.

what did the z coupe look like? may be one of the z club members. was it a blue one? i am not going to go for a while to the tracks i think. not until i get more mods on it. i dont think i can get it much faster as it is. unless, if i know a bunch of people going, then i may go too. take it easy.
