My wife just picked up our G35 from Infiniti after it's second routine service and she was charged $221 for an oil change, tire rotation, top off fluids, etc. The car has only 6500 miles after one year so I'm sure the brakes are still fairly new. Does this price sound right and did I just got ripped off by King Infiniti?!? I've never paid more than $75 for the same service for my IS300 at Servco Lexus. I'm taking a good look at the receipt when I get home from work to see exactly what was done. RANT.

haven't gotten my car serviced yet, so i can't answer your question, but i am wondering where you got your tint done, did you like the service, and how much did it cost?

$221 does sound rediculous. but dealerships do normally charge more.

 

Sorry to hear about the cost since it sounds like they gave you a free knife in the back and massaged your wallet at the same time. I've been kind of afraid these guys might start to pull this type of BS (so I started a thread about the servicing in this forum...could you post this there as well? It would be good to track what these guys are doing so if anything really shady comes up we can get the people who have been taken advantage of to come forward in a joint letter).

Any way of posting a PDF of your invoice for the service? We might get a better idea for what the charges were specifically for (X quarts for topping WWW fluid off, Z hours to inspect EEE assembly, etc.).

If its the second schedule oil change then the price is about right. Thats what they quoted me. They supposely do alot of other checks that you could do yourself. The quote was also given to me before they changed owner.
Thats why I do my own change. Its good practice to get a quote before you just drop it off. Helps from getting taken advantage of....

I've never been to a dealer that didn't give an estimate prior to service (Servco Toyota, Lexus, old Infiniti). I've also never been to a dealer that didn't explain all the work that was performed (that's the service advisor's job).
You should complain that they did neither. Otherwise, you wouldn't have agreed to it, right? If that doesn't work, tell them you'll call Action Line.
