Trouble with the Dealer

This all started when I went back to the dealership before King took over.I had a bunch of areas on the car where the paint began to chip off. Mind you that this was one week after purchase! The areas werent that bad but I decided to go and have it checked out. At the service dept. I had everyone up to the Gen. Manager come out to take a look at it. They took pics and said that they will get back to me. I waited one week and called...nothing...one month...nothing. After a while I just straight up gave up. Then almost 8 months after the fact I get this survey along with all of you other G owners in Hawaii. Seems like they wanted feedback from the old company. So I told them my story. They were really prompt on getting back to me like under a week. They told me to just bring it down and we'll take a look at it. So I thought, why not cant hurt to check it out. I take it there and they tell me the warranty clauses. But to my surprise they offer to fix it due to the technicallity. I was skeptical at first due to the fact that I had just purchased VOLKS and did not want to damage these over paint chips. They assured me that nothing was going to happen and this bodyshop was the top notch! EUROPEAN AUTO TECH...I never heard of these guys before and I worked like right up the street from them. So I thought I came this far might as well go through with it. Getting a loaner was a hassle. It took over the estimated time about 1 week longer. I drop my car off and expect about a week time. To my surprise, the car is done in 3 days total. I was thinking to myself that this is not possible. Sure enough, I pick up my car and there are clear coat runs in plain view. Also, they did not secure the fastners to the body of the car. The side skirt is able to be pulled right off without much force. I went back to the bodyshop to get it inspected. The shop manager tells me that the runs that I described are "TEXTURE" from the side skirt. C'mon now! I wanted to laugh in his face. Now mind you that this is a bodyshop that prides itself on repairing BMW, Mercedes, Jaguars, all top end cars. If this is the kind of excuses they give and quality of work that they do, I wouldnt let them fix a Honda.
Now, not to say that Infiniti of Honolulu is the good guy in all this. I requested that the bodywork be done by a reliable source of my choice. That request was shot down and they insisted that these guys were the best and high caliber.
Well, you be the judge...They go the extra mile but still fall short in my opinion.

Are you still having trouble with the dealer???? I went there because my brakes were squealing but when I had them check it out, I was charged $230for an engine inspection, oil change, wash and vacuum, and they assured me that the pads did not need to be changed and they still had more than 65% on the front and 75% on the rear. I live in Makakilo so I still hear the squeal when I come down the hill. What I really wanted were new brake pads and they charge me for everything else. They don't even reset the maint computer on the navigation system inside the car.
---I just wasn't happy about my last visit to those guys.

Still squealing

I better not have to re-surface my disks because of these guys just don't think so.

A buddy of mine told that it may just be better to order the green pads instead of replacing the stock ones. Any ideas anyone?? Anyone hear of this? What are benefits for having the dealer replace them anyway??

Benefits of having the dealership replace them would be that it's free?

! if you end up getting pads on your own, Project Mu, or Hawk would be optimal. i believe the green pads are good. i don't know bout those. Beangrower would be the poc re: those.

I would suggest you clean out the dust from your rotors/calipers. It should help.

I put the Hawk pads and so far no squeals or fade. The green stuff I heard makes plenty of dust. So you will get build up and a lot more squeal. Try this it worked for my car before changing pads. Buy the Mquires rim and tire cleaner it comes in a red/pinkish colored bottel. Spray it all over your rotors and calipires when your washing your car, let it sit for a while, like the time it takes you to wash the rest of the car. Then hose it down. It breaks down alot of the dust that builds up. At the least you will have nice clean rims.

u can put brake grease behind the pads...that should help quiet brakes. as for the green stuff...ahhh...its okay. honestly, i can't tell the diff. only that its a bit noisy due to the dimpled/slotted rotors, not the pads.

get infiniti to send it to warren at w&s autobody in kalihi - they use him a lot and ive used him since infiniti had them do some work on my car. do NO use jimmy and national fender if they offer - he is by far the worst ive ever had auto body wise and will find a way to blame the customer for his poor work.
