why would we want E85? I don't even want the E90 we got now. Since the switch to E90 my gas mileage went down not to mention my lawn mower runs like crap and I need to add stabil to the gas. Ethanol is a load of crap, it takes more energy to produce it then it gives back, takes food production away, a waste of government funds to subsidize farmers, has less energy then gasoline and is less efficient, deteriorates hoses and seals, cost more then straight gasoline. I see no benefit to it.

While I agree with everything you have said I must correct you on one thing. We currently have E10 gas which means 10% ethanol. E90 would be 90% ethanol.

OP exactly why you guys want E85? Not all cars are flex fuel right now and E85 makes even less sense than E10.

I was just helping him spread the word. I haven't really been reading up on e85 because we don't have it here yet. This is a pretty long read though

Juston should chime in on this

ah brain fart.... E10 not E90. All I know is that the 10% ethanol we got now is 10% too much in my opinion, I wish congress would just drop this waste of tax payers dollars.

You just can't add E85 to any car. The car has to be flex fuel ready. E85 is grey if you have a drag car running tons of boost, you also need huge injectors because of the low energy content of alcohol. So no, it's not this miracle fuel that will instantly raise your octane to 104+. It's a bit more complicated than that.

From the link. Unfortunately this is only the street car guys since the 1/4 mile guys are out of this with no track.

OP - would it be easier to just get the supplier to furnish race fuel?
Aloha,

My name is Juston and to be honest really only signed up for i-Club for petitioning fellow tuners who want more horsepower. I am more of an American muscle guy instead of Imports; but don't let that get in the way of accomplishing a common goal.

I have contacted the fuel distributor that supplies the Marine base with E-85. He tells me if I can demonstrate a number of customers who want E-85 that he will try and make it happen for us. So, the purpose of this post is to garner your support in getting E85 to the 808 for everyone not just military members.

So, I am starting an electronic petition that I can then forward to the fuel distributor and hopefully get things moving in the right direction.

You can PM me, email me, or simply reply to this post giving your name, location, email address or phone number while also clearly stating "I want E85" to get this horsepower party started.

Template:

Name: Juston
Location: Oahu
Email: E85forthe808@gmail.com
Would you buy E85 if fill stations offered it: Yes, I absolutely would!

Thanks for your support.
I hope to have my inbox flooded with emails, so we can then flood our cylinders with that ohh so sweet high octane E85.
