Nismo Poly Bumper

Sup dudes...I got a poly nismo bumper getting painted and the guys say that the paint might not stay on because of the plastic. Has anyone had problems with paint on their bumpers? Should I hold them accountable if the paint eventually peels after they warned me?

Yup flex additive, or the paint will crack if/when the bumper bends. Also ask them about adhesion promoter.

was jus about to chime in.........yes flex additive. if that shop youre taking it to doesn't know about it i wouldnt even paint my car there....thats something every paint shop should know about.

i've had my nismo bumper since 09 and nothing has flaked...of course theres hairline cracks but thats from me having my car low and hitting the bumper against the pavement one time and bending the whole bumper

Yeah my shop uses flex additives and a lot of it lol, they did my whole paintjob and had no issues so I have no idea why he's having issues with the bumper, he says it's the worst he's had to deal with.

its not a problem with the paint. i had mine painted and they also used flex additive. the paint just had a hard tome sticking to the type of urethane they used to make the bumper.

When my bumper was painted the shop used a product called "bulldog" which is an adhesion promoter.. no flaking here..
