Recon Requirements?
Was trying to find the recon requirements online but haven't had any luck...found bits and pieces of info here and there. anyone on here know the answers to some of my questions?
1. Does the lip of the rim have to be in line with or inside the fender? If you pull the fender would the reconstruction guys align it with the pulled fender or the stock specs? I read online the tread on the tire has to be covered by the fender...so if you have a stretched tire (with the tread fully covered under the fender) that protrudes outside the fender as long as it isn't too much it should be fine right?
2. Are the JDM clear corners with no orange not permitted??
3. Read somewhere coilovers aren't permitted...that's untrue, right? And you must get recon for any suspension altering even if you are in stock alignment specs?
4. How much larger than stock rim size (diameter? width? both?) are you able to go before needing a recon permit
5. Should have no problem with camber kits correct?
6. Is fender modifying/wheels that extend past your fenders illegal?
Also off-topic...would you guys trust the guys at Autoland? Was thinking of getting some rims there, and maybe put tires (stretched) on while im there

1. tire must be in line/within fender and tuck if pushed down. and no stretch allowed.
2. corners must be orange(federal law)
3. coilovers can pass if at a reasonable height and not too stiff
4. rims just need to fit on the car properly and tuck within the fender during suspension travel.
5. you NEED camber kit and alignment paperwork proving its in spec.(if lowered)
6. you can modify your fender 1/2" wider than stock and again wheels/tires not allowed to go past.
I see what your getting at. and no hellaflush fitment is no allowed. no tire stetch AT ALL either. and no spacers. no neg camber. camber MUST be in spec with paperwork to prove it.
and please dont buy knockoff wheels. that is all.

Wow. Thanks for the info, I didn't realize recon here was THAT strict..hopefully one of those bills to remove recon gets passed some day..I'm surprised corners have to be orange, not all cars even have corners so I thought it wouldn't matter
Pretty surprised about the stretch and negative camber thing too, as well as wheels/tires not allowed to go past..see violations every where I go then...
Where'd you get all this information? thanks

Kinda surprised I see so many cars that would obviously not pass recon. I would have thought the cops would care enough to pull them over and do something about it
Actually dont buy anything from autoland. I went to them to see how much they can get me a oem front lip and other parts they priced me at $300 and that doesnt include shipping and I bought it on my own new for 350 shipped. I think the only thing affordable from them is the airfresheners. THEY WILL RIP U OFF.

Saw on tacoma world that painting the inside of your headlight housings is not allowed? Do you know if that's correct? Also I'm assuming swapping the stock fog light to a jdm style yellow would be fine correct?

2. clear corners will fail u
3. coilovers are fine, you have to show proof of alignment within the past month, your camber and toe have to be in the green.
4.1 inch
5.camber kits are gonna help you
6. i dont think so.
All the dude is gonna measure is ur headlights, middle of headlights need to be 22 inches above ground, you have to pass a bounce test so if u have adjustable dampening set it to soft. hes gonna check if you have HID. hes gonna check your tire tread. and he will check your camber and toe alignment
