oh okay.. I feel a little better now... I was jsut worried if I tried to bring it into the dealer they would tell me it was because of the plenum when i know it was idling like that before I even installed that thing... oh well okay... nothing to worry about... good deals...

Does anyone know how to advance the timing or up the fuel pressure or will that way only work with honda's...?

You will need a consult II to advance the timing....and even at that..maybe only 2 degress. But you do know that after a while, the ECU might retard the timing anyway. The stock fuel pressure I believe is not adjustable. Thus it becomes dependent on the ECU to calculate how much fuel is needed.

If your engine is idling really low...wouldnt that mean that you are running too rich? Maybe the ECU is dropping the timing to avoid pingging. Either that or bad gas = too low of an octane level. Try to change gas stations. Use like a 76 or Chevron station for a little while. Sorry but Aloha gas does not cut it.

Therefore......if all else fails. Take it to Infiniti. That idle speed just sounds way too low.

Hey,....that might be the reason on the slow track times. Timing is really bad.........pun intended.

Anyhow, get it tended too. I dont think that it is at all normal for that low of an idle.

eh Jeremy, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, was so busy during the holidays. still got that CEL light on? The stock tachs are usually not that accurate so it may not be reading right, I'll be home around 3pm on Friday. If you're around give me a call and we can hookup the OBD2 scan tool to check your actual RPM and reset your CEL and see if there are any other trouble codes.

Is there a compliant onboard scanner for the G35? I used to run a Laptop and a realtime scanner software in my buick. People used to think I was a cop and slowed down everytime they'd see the laptop open. (I had the holder and all) I used it whenever I'd make a few shakedown passes at the track to monitor knock retard, fuel pressure, boost, rpm, vehicle speeds and all that good stuff.
