anyone here get recon?

just wondering if I can pass with my tein springs and 19z. doesn't seem like I have an inch of travel in my suspension...and don't you need like an inch going up and down to pass recon? i remember my 240 w/ cusco suspension had basically no travel...even with two recon guys trying to bounce on the suspension. so I had to swap in tein s-tech springs to pass recon. but the springs had way more travel and way more soft then the g35 ones. ...at least it seems like that.

Did they still try to bounce the cars…? Last time I ever went all they made sure that my windows were not to dark and that my bottom of my front plate was 12” from the ground. The center of the headlight was 21” from the ground and the top of the back bumper was 22” from the ground, which we don’t have so I don’t think they will check that… But I think that measuring thing they should change, because not all cars have the plate that high… An example would be the S-10 Xtremes… I think from the top of the plate is 12”… oh and also they checked the weight on the wheels too make sure that it can hold the weight of the car…

i really don't think it's worth it. you have to have every part listed. if one part is not listed, the officer has the right to revoke it. it's happened to many of my friends. sad, but true.

beangrower: so what kind of shoes did you get?

true, but it is a piece of mind especially since I work in Waikiki. I know only a few cops that actually go through the whole list.

well, I heard some do. They bounced my white 240 and that was like early last year....I think in february or March. I passed everything but that....that's why I had to swap out the coilovers for the springs...and then re-align. I think It cost me 215 bux to get recon:

Where are you ordering the SF winnings from? How much? I might be able to get a lower price locally for you. My friend owns a shop. He gave me better pricing than my friend at Hypers and I thought Hypers was the main Rays shop here.

He has an audio shop called Revision Auto, but he has an account with Mackin. He also can get Work rims for a good price.

He quoted me about $100 cheaper than my friend at Hypers and since he brings in crates, the shipping was cheap too. I don't know if it's cheaper than online, but it probably would be easier to deal with.

I tried to buy Amistad rims from Cali but they only accepted money transfers. I just couldn't trust that. Sometimes I guess dealing locally is safer even though the prices might be a bit more. Jeez, I should know! I own a store and hate it when people buy online! How ironic. I just thought of that now! Haha!

Sorry to Jack the thread. Hehe.

Sorry, my store isn't big enough yet to hire employees. One man operation. I own a men's high end dress shoe store in Downtown. I know this may sound ghetto, but from what I hear, Wal-Mart pays pretty darn good for part time, brainless work-I heard somewhere around $12-$17 an hour. It may be a rumor. Also, check some stores in Ala Moana for part time 4:00-9:00 work. I used to work part time at a high end store in Ala Moana and got about $15-$17/hour (hourly + commission).

Again, sorry to jack the thread.

About recon, I think as long as you don't look like a young punk, you don't drive a Honda Civic, and you make good small talk/conversation with the inspector, you'll be fine. I had recon on a previous car, but I get illegal tint after anyway so I guess it's no sense. Hehe.

I'm going through this shop. I think its called revision auto. haha. yeah, I'm going through samson. I'm just trying to come up with the money. It was either through him or wheeloptions.com. Samson can get the rims by itself cheaper...but for wheel and tire packages, wheeloptions might be a little better 'cause they got toyo t1-s that I want mounted and balanced for like 3500. But yeah, I'm gonna see if I can get a deal on tires too through revision.

sorry to jack the thread. oh wait...this is my thread
