Feeler: Anyone want to buy my OEM 19"s?

Aloha,

I just got my 05 coupe last week and already thinking of some wheels. I want to get something with lippage. Anyone have some suggestions?

Conversely, I would be selling my OEM 19"s. If anyone is interested, please make me an offer either here or by email paul18t at hotmail dot com.

Thanks!

Paul C.

lippage huh! how much lip do you want? maximum crazy lips, or 3.75 will do? i don't recommend you get too much lip if you plan to run them as daily/only wheels. reason is our "beautiful" roads. the roads here claim lot's of wheels. try to stay away from the generic brands. they may look extremely nice, but they're extremely poor in quality.

what style, what brand, what size, etc were you looking into?

might i suggest...not to get volk sf winnings. hehe. seen a couple of g's with those rims already. if i'm gettin' it and black350gt also,...phew, that's too much. nawh, jus playin' man. what kinda style rims do you like? mesh? simple 5 star? imola (lotsa fins) style? then people here can then give you suggestions on brands, sizes, and offsets that'll best fit your car.

I was looking at those Axis Hiro's...kinda nice...except dont get the gold ones. Ugh...looks more like puke gold IMO. If youre gonna go crazy on the lippage, and a daily driver, go with something that your wallet can handle, esp. if you go for that 3-3.75 lip with anything over +30 offset. Reason, just cause its a pain in the ****....start having camber/toe problems, alignment, and tires go a lot quicker. I only know of a few guys, like myself, and a few others on here who are running 19x10.5 with +22 and lower offsets.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I should've been a bit more specific when asking for suggestions. I used to have IForged Aero's on my e46 M3. I like a good 5 spoke or 6 spoke wheel. The thing I didn't like about the IForged though was the maintenance. The lips were like 4" (rear) 3" (front). When they were clean they were beautiful. Unfortunately, after a rainfall, the lips would collect water and brakedust and look horrible. I was constantly hitting em with eagle one mag polish. That and the rivets were a pain to clean too.

So I guess I'm looking for a 5 or 6 spoke wheel with possibly anodized lips this time. I heard that the anodized lips are easier to maintain than the full polished, untreated lips I had b4.

Also, I don't know very much about the JDM wheel market. I have no idea which brands are good. The only thing I remember is from old school days when SSR's were good.

They don't have to be 3 piece or 2 piece wheels either. The only thing I know for sure is that they have to be hella strong because I can't dodge potholes for **it!

Thanks again for all your responses everyone.

Paul C.

If youre looking in the JDM market, then Id suggest Volk's. Prices are reasonable, considering you used to own IForged. If you like those 5-6 spoke wheels, TE-37's or LE-37's. Gram lights are nice too, 57F and 57Pro. Id suggest Racing Harts, but since my latest incident, Im not too fond of them no more. Reason why Im selling mine....

^ in that case, look into volks, work, advans, jline, amistad, or alike. to be honest, i know people with very good brands that have damaged wheels due to potholes. SSR's are very nice, but they're also very pothole friendly. Don't look into Lowenhart either due to the fact that they are extremely soft. lot's of friends on mine replaced Lowenhart's A LOT of times. ask Jeff at Eurosport (he may not tell you that though!) even though wheels may be forged, it's still dangerous. if you care about potholes, try to get rims with up to 3.5" Labia. more is nuts! forged is way better than forged too. it's better for weight, performance, mileage, and handling purposes. most JDM shoes are anodized clear coated which are quite easy to clean, but once damaged, it's hard to repair especially in hawaii.

Black350GT:

Please don't be offended, but Racing Hart's aren't what they used to be (1994-1996). RH series is worse.

none taken...ever since RH has been making wheels beyond 17 inches, I think the quality is a lot worse than what it used to be.

^ word. but their styles & design's are very nice. imo, i loved the C5's, then the C2's, CR's, and your C4's. actually, i only like the C?? series! if i get to keep my car after all, i'm getting Work's. i've always wanted them, but never wanted to wait. fack it, i'll wait if i have to.

Wow thanks for all the advice guys. Sounds like Volk and Work make good wheels for our G's. I did a quick search and found this picture. I think they are Volks, but don't know more than that. They are really nice except I would get another color. Any ideas what they are, what they cost, and where I could get them? Thanks again for all the help.
