Hey JDB, I heard you're selling your G35c IP
, but now you're not?
Unfortunately, since I don't yet have a G35, haven't gone out on a cruise (I have a sucky 4cyl Nissan), but I've seen the pix you posted - pretty nice! How'd you come to the Acura TSX & RSX-S? Don't mean to be nosy or anything, but wouldn't it be cheaper to keep the G35c and just get the wife the TSX? I went down to Acura last year with a friend and the prices they quoted us for an '04 TSX was like $32K (w/ rims, I think) and $38K for a bone-stock TL - and this was the CASH price. (This was before the '05 Gs came out.) If you get 1 or both, I hope you get it for below MSRP cuz that dealer's an even bigger crook than Infiniti - and (sorry Acura fans) their cars are all FWDs based on Civics/Accords! (But as my friend said, "At least it's a really nice Accord!")
Anyways, just my 2¢!
Dan
P.S. At least the '05 TSX has power front seat!
P.P.S. If you're looking for a value-packed FWD non-Nissan car, check out (ugh, I can't believe I'm writing this) the '05 Avalon. 3.5L 280hp V6, air-conditioned (I think) front seats, and a pretty nice interior. Not sure about the handling, though, but costs about the same as a TSX.
P.P.S. Or, instead of the TSX, why not a G sedan? So with that, then they'll be 2 sedans on the Hawaii forums. Herb, I think you're the only other one w/ a sedan? Oh, that and the cop, yeah, so that's like 3, since 99% of everyone else drives coupes!

w8ting4: I can't make up my mind right now... I only want to get rid of the G because it really isn't my style of car... I'm content with driving a busted down car just as long as it has A/C... I'm only going to tak it to the track anyways... On the other hand... When it comes to the wifey and daugther... That's a different story... she's like half/half on the G right now... So I'm still waiting on what she wants to do with it... Also...
I can definitely say that the guys at Acura will not rip me off... Some of the guys there are like family... when servicing my brand new TL type-S which I got for $28K out the door fully loaded... I was able to chill out back with the mechanic... Maybe it was because I knew them... With Infiniti... I can't do that... because I don't know anyone there... Plus... I'm pretty sure I got rip on the G...
I think for me... It's all about good service... oh well...
me_wanna_g: are you guys gonna hit up the tracks also tonight...?

(Sorry guys, don't mean to be a U.S.-made "hater", but my friends' cars that were built in the U.S, including mine, all had "issues" that were non-existent in the Japan-made counterparts.)Glad to hear that you have a good relationship w/ the Acura sales staff. I went there 2x at Acura (didn't know anybody there) and they were like already sizing up a trade-in and I was just looking! At Lexus, they weren't high pressure at all, pretty nice, and wasn't going to charge any markup. But they were, uh, a bit "lethargic" ([awakes from nap] "oh, that feature, uh, hmmmm, let me see..."[refers to owner's manual] ) and you almost had to buy the car first before taking a testdrive. And then there's Infiniti - and if you've read my posts, I won't even go there...
I'm really biased about this but if you want a good family car, go for the G-sedan! You guys should all know this, you get really used to driving fast around the twisties, the really good braking, driving dynamics, etc. etc. and then switch to a front-driver. Depending on the car, tho, can't really match FWD to RWD, IMHO.
Anyways, good luck with your new car purchase(s)! BTW, even if you get the RSX, you can still come out to the G meets, yeah? (I'm planning to get one, hopefully by this summer.)
