got another TICKET !

got another ticket this past saturday while leaving the W. it was infested with HPD. good deals though because everytime i'm in the area, there are LOTS of crazy drivers taking things for granted.

well, i got pulled over because the officer noticed i had different color bulbs in my side marker lens, and i had the G35 hawaii sticker on my license plate. when he pulled me over he told me it was because of the two, then he walked around completely and told me, "you have no front plate, you have blue lights, a sticker on your license plate which is fraud ($110 !), and tint." he continued with, "okay, i'll tag you for no front plate, lights, tint, and the sticker on the plate. please hold on sir while i write them up."

minutes pass by, and i'm not s.hitting bricks at all, because i know i'm wrong. anyhow, i'm begining to get upset because i was meeting up with HOTTIES at Pirahna Room!

he comes back saying, "okay heres your ticket, follow the direction on the back, and it's gonna cost you $70 dollars." i was shocked because i know the tint ticket is up to $287 per window. i have 5 windows! anyway, he then told me that he's only tagging me for the no front plate and that i should change my bulbs, re-do the tint, and quote, "get that ugly sticker off your plate." boy i was thankful. i told the officer thanks, and that i appreciate his kindness and left.

so, in conclusion, i got a $70 ticket for no front plate. i still went to Pirahna Room and had a damn good time. i will be puttin my front plate back on today after i purchase those stupid white plastic things from infiniti today, then i'll rip off the G35 sticker, and swap out my bulbs.

have a good day, and be cautious!

^ haha! i'm gonna go to court though. i recently got my front end worked on at the body shop and lost the plastic clips that hold the bracket in place. i have a written statement from the shop as well stating what happened. it just happened last week. hopefully i'll get a decent break. we shall see.

Oh yeah lol... sorry for making you look around for a while hehehe...

I called out your name and then I started waving like a mad man but I guess you couldn't see me on saturday. I'm guessing you got the ticket after I passed by you?

PS your car was spotless and sexy as usual =P

i left that part out of the story! i gave a couple names thus him only giving me 1 ticket. there were 8 other cops just a few feet away who were doing something (lots of cars and people ??).

Last time I got pulled over I had to call my friend to verify.
Some ask you, how you know that particular officer that's why.
I got pulled over for some manini crap about my helmet visor.
I told him that I didnt expect to go home later in the early evening from work but he kept on harrasing me about it (rookie - i dont blame him for trying and doing his job). luckily my friend was on duty when i called him, on the same guy's beat and came along to get me off the hook.

I havent been pulled over by a cop in Waikiki yet. i would believe it's harder...even if you start dropping names. easiest way out is you gotta call the cop you know.

Kinda sucks dropping your friends name all the time. If I know it's my fault..I deserve the cite, I would call on my friends. but if it's manini stuff like my visor..i wont hesitate.

hey senjen, you should definitely challenge this in court. go to the hearing and plead "not guilty," then you'll go to trial. i got a speeding ticket (driving a damn 4 cyl!) and am currently in a trial. i went to court the day before the trail to "sit in," and they combined the DUIs w/ the regular traffic infraction cases. one guy had a DUI and the cop didn't show, and it was the case's 4th continuance or something. the judge told the prosecutor that this was going to be the LAST continuance and the next one, if the cop doesn't show, would result in a dismissal! a DUI! this other case had a guy who was "recklessly driving" and the cop didn't show - it was thrown out of court! in fact, the whole time i was there, only 1 cop showed up for trial! (the vietnamese guy "pretended" to not speak any english) ran a stop sign and the cop showed up to testify. no cops showed for any of the DUI trials, so they were all continued. (see story below.)

so yeah, go to trial and challenge it! the only thing is, tho, and this happened to my friend, is that the prosecutor could call up the case AGAIN even after it's been dismissed, but it's probably not likely that it would happen, and even if it does, then it's not really likely that the cop would've showed. but anyways, good luck!

Stupid Cabbie Pretending to Not Speak Any English Gets the Book Thrown At Him for Running a Stop Sign
anyway, so i'm sitting in traffic trial court, and for the whole 2 hours i was there, only 1 cop showed up to testify. this viet cabbie who supposedly spoke no english, ran the stop sign somewhere in kalihi. there was a stop sign AND a stop line. anyway, this dude hires an attorney to argue the case before the judge. during the cop's testimony, the prosecutor asks aloud a rhetorical question and this viet guy, who supposedly understands not a word of english, starts to answer the prosecutor's question and the judge, who's hawaiian and was kinda using pidgin in court, starts bus laughing! anyway, so the guy realizes his faux-pas and shuts up. the case was so weak, considering that this guy drives in that area for a living, obviously should've known that there was a stop sign AND line there, AND supposedly has a commercial driver's license! needless to say, at the end of the trial, the judge said flatly that he didn't believe a word the cabbie said, under oath, that the cabbie "couldn't see" the unobstructed stop sign or the stop line, so that fool lost the case.

i don't mean to offend any cabbies who might be reading this, but in my experience in HNL and in san francisco, is that cabbies and bus drivers are the absolute worst drivers! my friend even got rear-ended by a cabbie in waikiki like 7 yrs ago and just before the cops came to the scene, the cab's boss drove up in a van and handed him his "papers". also almost got scraped by these commercial and SOME city bus drivers because they apparently have the right-of-way when merging in your lane. in SFO is much worse, cuz the cabbies there don't even bother slowing down at 4-way stop intersections!

so drive safe!
