Installing and tuning TT kit

OK who's out there running TT kits and who would you bet your car's health on to install and tune a TT kit?

There is a group buy being set up for the APS TT kit and if I'm to seriously consider this I want someone who has A LOT of experience putting this in my car and maintaining it. Blowing up my engine is not high on my list of priorities.

Comments & suggestions anyone?

i would say either speed gear or hypers cause they have experience with the motor. speedgear should be good cause they installed george's power enterprise tt in his g, and they also have the greddy tt in their drift g. so i guess they shouldn't have any problem installing the aps kit. im not too sure if hypers did any tt installs on the g, but i know they did a few 350zs.

hope this helps, jude

^ likewise. however, i'd go to Endless and get it tuned by them too. if not, then i'd hit up hyper's, but still get it tuned by Endless/Izumi (?). good luck.

yeah...tough here in hawaii with no authorized APS dealers huh?

Unfortunately, I'm moving to central Ohio in August and taking my G. I'm researching the APS TT and ST too. Luckily, there will be a authorized APS dealer/installer 1/2hour from where I'll be living. I will also hopefully be checking out KPierson's G in person once its done with all of its APS TT, exhaust, rebuilt engine mods in Dayton.

My wife seems to think buying a house in Ohio (which is 1/3rd of what Hawaii real estate rapes you for) is slightly more important than buying an APS TT Kit.......what do you think??? lol

**Blame it on Donald Trump for telling Larry King and Oprah that investors should buy up real esate in Hawaii esp. the BI....

LOL! hmm...it seems you haven't introduced your wife to the VQ yet? !! nah, i'd invest in the house, then get the TT kit, and fully build/balance/blueprint/tune another VQ in N/A trim with individual throttle bodies.

this is me:

Thanks for the info guys. I'm really on the fence on this.

Docron - there's really only two things keeping me from doing this (1) upcoming GTR (fully understandable not wanting to FI this car when that's coming out soon) and (2) getting a house/condo (damn I know that's the wrong answer, but I still haven't figured out how to live out of my car ).

I have heard about the infamous blown & blown up engine club (which includes KP) and have no intention of joining that exclusive club.

Kinda hard for speedgear, Gavin (the one that worked on the Drift G35) left. I heard he's working for a dealership now.
Niztec could probably do the application. since they specialize in Nissan motors.

Nobody knows how much the GTR is going to cost. Nobody even knows if it's going to be a Nissan or Infiniti.

I'm thinking to do the TT right I'm going to be spending upwards of $20k, so it's a pretty serious investment of money. GTR if they can bring it in at about mid $50k to $60k might be possible for me to swing (I'm hoping for the Nissan badge so we get more Nismo support and it'll knock a couple of thou off the price if it was an Infiniti). What I cannot buy is the chasis and chasis tuning that Lotus is doing no matter what I do to the G.

^ The rumors that are being published (Sport Compact Car, Motor Trend (?) etc.) are that the car will be an Infiniti GTR (no "Skyline" moniker, tho), have at least 400hp, will be based on a completely new chassis with all new parts to justify the higher price tag, and will feature some sort of gearbox that will be developed for Nissan by Lotus or something, maybe like 7 gears w/ a Formula1-style paddle shift (like BMW's SMG tranny), and that it will be around $100K. But this is pure speculation, w/ some of it coming from unnamed Nissan insiders. Then again, Lexus is going to debut its Supra successor, dubbed the Lexus LF-A, and that car, the chassis & body panels of which are made out of CF (the concept, anyway) will have in excess of 500hp and will also sell for around $100K. Both cars are expected to debut around the 2007 model year, tho.

well, by then, I won't really care as I will be looking into 500hp teleportation device or a hybrid George Jetson spacecraft that runs on H-power.....lol

It must be friday....

Nissan is very hush-hush about the GTR. I don't trust the mags since there has been a lot of conflicting and false information. Waiting sucks!

^ yeah, i know. rumors are rumors. speaking of the Jetsons, i think the Lexus LF-A (aka Supra-successor) is supposed to have hybrid power built in (regenerative power sytems in the brakes, etc.), so you can be both a hot-rodder AND an environmentalist!
