Stretching Tires...

I just got my rims in last week, and now its time to find the right tires. The rims that I got are 20x8.5, and 20x10.5. I think stretching the tires look pretty mean, so i think I wanna do that. Just wondering what tire sizes do you guys recommend going with. Everyone I call to price tires are telling me to do 245/35/20, and 285/35/20. I pretty sure I'm not gonna get the stretch that I want with these sizes. Plus, I plan on slaaaaaming my G.

I saw 275/30/19 on my friends 19x10.5 rear volks, and I love the look of the stretch the Falken Azenis give. So I think I might to with 275/30/20 for my rear. But what about the front? Could I stretch 225/35/20 on my fronts? Would it look decent? Also, who makes a matching front and rear of these sizes, if any does even?

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

go with 225/35 for the fronts, and 275/30 for the rears (hard to find from the same manufacturer; unless you run Craptoes/Nitto's). guaranteed stretch. it depends on the tire you're going with too. sp9's, falken's (all for our cars), bridgestone's, bfg, and fuzion's stretch perfectly (again, your sizes are hard to come by!). since you're slamming it, you have to run 30 series in the rear, or else you'll have to roll the fender perfectly, and might have to bring it out a tad bit.

if you want the same for both front and rear, i suggest the BFG G-FORCE TA KDW2. but, instead of 275/30, get 265/30. since they're bf's, they are a bit wider than falken's. thus, a 265 is better. this will provide the stretch you're going for.

which rims did you get??? PM if you no like say in public.

Lemme ask the dumb question. What does the stretch look actually look like? I know the fat lip and I'm not a personal fan (just call me ol' school). Are there any good photos of the stretch look out there?

Thanks!

Hey wassup man! I believe you know my friend Darrel from Maui with the black DC2. He sent me a link to your myspace page. Nice ride man! I wanted to go with the KDV Burnout kit too! Anyways, what brand tires are you running?

stretching the tires has been in Hawaii for a while now. It's commonly used by drifters to get better response out of them.

You do realize that when changing your tires...the mounting and dismounting proceedure might scratch the lip of the rim a bit right? It will be a slight task for the shop to remove them without any issues all the time. I have noticed that the polished rims seem to be more difficult versus the painted versions.

yah, it depends on the type of tire mount a shop uses too. shops using older pneumatic mounts suck; scratching and damaging the rims, possibly even damaging the tire bead in the process.
