Nov 20 is our next event. Watch Mike ward in his fresh Greddy twin-turbocharged G35 take on a more enthused Mike Turolla in his SCCA Solo1 Z06. Will this be a new losing streak for the once consecutive winner? Don't forget Ramon Lumpas of HI-PACE with his turbocharged IS300...and yours truley making attempts to braking the 41 second barrier with a bone stock G35. There's also, Marcus Ho of Endless Garage drifting his green EK hatch battling with Martin Lau or Titan Motorsports and Sy Kodama of Autopro for the FWD/Unlimited Class.

My offer still stand on whovemer wants to take a ride. There are other drivers that would offer a ride...all you have to do is ask. It's all in fun, and I'd like to see more G35 owners alike, to come and play the field. There's no pressure, and you go at your own pace.

42.46 is my fastest time, for a fairly stock G35. Fastest G35 out there is Mike Ward's S/C G35 at 40.52. Looking for high 41 secs. next time out, and 40s in Dec.

Anyone wanna experience a ride, lmk. Just pay at the gate, I'll give you a ride.
damn, i'll be on the Big Island!!!!

welps, another exciting day at superlaps. we had a few crashes. one with a $45k Elise, and a +300hp civic. And the dethroning of a consecutive winner, Mike Turolla...by none other than, another G35. Wards 39.18 to Turollas 39.20. It wasnt much, but a win none-the-less. Turolla has been known to be in the 38s...We'll probably see a hat trick from Turolla. Mike Ward came with a new setup, a Power Enterprise Twin turbo setup that helped him best from low 40sec times. Some new tires, new brakes...and a new attitude. Things will only get faster for this guy. Ward also plans on building another engine to make more horsepower. I went about 3-tenths faster teetering 41 seconds with a 42.11. Another personal best with an absolutely stock powertrain. I wouldve solidfied 41s, maybe even mid 41 if I werent sliding every where. drifting the sweeper, turn one and exit of off camber..and lifting the inside tires off the chicane. hopefully I will have my Silk coil overs and Tanabe swaybars in by the next events. they should help me further into the 41s, possibly 40s.

I dont know either. To a point, adjustability is a good thing, most of them will say "it's to fine tune" thier settings when it comes to swaybars. For those who are inexperienced with seting up their suspension, it leaves more room for error. I'm far from being inexperienced...tuning suspensions has been one of my strongest points with the formula race cars and GP race bikes, ideally...they're ethics, theories, and practices are nearly the same. The G35 is a good extension of what I know. I'm getting a better feel on the quirks of the G35 chassis...how the tail end sways on hard braking, how it swings out entering a slow corner and on high speed sweepers. it's better no to fight with the momentum...just slowly oppose it, and slide if need be. it will square things out immencely. It's one thing when the back end sneeks up from behind you...it's another when you purposely slide things out. We'll what happens on the next event.

Update from our event today. No crashes but a whole lot of close calls. I have an in-car video of my time attack run where I made my personal best...yet again...from a 42.11 to a 41.94, so far being the fastest factory stock G35 on the short course. Mike Ward in his TTG35 didnt fair well...still faster than me, but his fame for dethroning the consecutive SLS Ltd/RWD winner, Mike Turolla, has been short lived. Placing 3rd today, behind Drift Session's Tom Bryant, with Turolla claiming redemption. I'll post up the video when our SLS webmaster gives me access to our FTP.
