Thumbs down AutoSource Sucks

'k, my friend's looking for an '02 to '03 TL Type-S (pref. w/ spoiler, no drop -near bone-stock in other words) and I saw this ad in the HNL Advertiser:

'03 3.2TL S 23k 2710 $22,995 autosourcehawaii.com 597-8522
Listing Date: February 25, 2006
Listing Source: Honolulu Advertiser

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...3&aff=honolulu

Anyway, so i call up AutoSource and the guy said yeah, come on down the car's great, yaddah yaddah yaddah so I show up an hour early and the dumbass tells me "oops, forgot the car's being 'worked on'" and tells me to come back tomorrow. kinda pissed, i asked him politely if he can at least give me some car specs and some more info. he writes down the vin, tells me the car's in "excellent condition" (which is probably why it's being "worked on") and that the price is like $25K PLUS taxes and fees.

uh, excuse me? the exact same car in the ad is listed as $22,995. I actually told him that. "So you're telling me this is a mistake?" he started backpedaling and pretended not to know what i was talking about. (Interestingly, he even confirmed the price to me over the phone just before I came down.) When i showed him the ad, he said, "oh, that must've been a sale." he basically said that I had to make an offer to actually commit to buying the car and then he'd tell me the price. I had to NEGOTIATE to get to the advertised price? wtf?! what's even more fcuked up about the situation is that his biz card said he was the "manager." Then he'd ask his boss if he could sell it to me for "around" the advertised price.

That was the first and probably LAST time I'm going to AutoSource. In the past I used to bitch about how Infiniti of Honolulu rips off everyone by charging crazy a.ss markup - but at least they're UPFRONT that they're going to rip you off. lol.

oh, and yeah, i do realize this is a "G35" forum. Trust me, I tried talking him into getting a G35 (he actuually test drove an '04 just before the '05s came out and loved the handling but he still thinks it's a bit too much "rice" for him).

btw, senjen, if you're reading this, he knows who you are. his friend ricky was one of the co-founders of hpoc. (in that case, frostya, you must know him too.)

and if you guys know of anyone wanting to sell an '02-'03 tl type-s in the next couple of weeks, hit me up.

Dayum I hate ***** like that..
I called JN to see if they at least had a new Z06 in the showroom and the guy that answered didn't know what the F**K I was talking about.. he kept telling me the C7 is in.. I was like.. WTF!?! C7? he said yeah.. its got 400 hp.. and the C7 Z06 had 505.. I was ROTFL.. I hung up on his *** cause I didn't have the heart to make him look like a jack ***.
I guess they just hire any **** with sales experience regardless if they no nothing about what they are selling.

omg the new Z06s are ****ing crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Was reading this article on it about how most of the parts and tuning that aftermarket companies would normally do to a car or even to earlier versions of the corvette wont work on the new Z06 b/c it is basically racing tuned straight from the factory so companies arn't sure where to go right now.

yea, that Rema guy is your stereotypical car salesman. don't ever buy anything from that guy. When you meet him, you'll know. But then, there's always more than one side to people so I really shouldn't say much about someone I don't really know.

What I do know is i'm not buyin a car from Autosource...
