Ticket Ques.

Just got a ticket for illegal u-turn. It was at the intersection above Pearls. Just got fined 92 bucks, but I was wondering about my record/ insurance situation. Does this go down on my record? Does it usually affect insurance? Just wondering, this is my first moving violation.

Pretty sure that it will go on the records. A moving violation will affect your insurance...well depends on the carrier. Some may wave it as a first time accident, others will penalize you.

But be prepared for a slight increase in the insurance due to the slight increase in risk insuring you.

yes, it will go on your records. i've had that, lol. however, as david mentioned, for a 1st time incident (1st blemish on record ever), they usually waive it.

man, the fine skyrocketed! mine was $55 4 years ago!

I see. I hope my insurance will just waive it. So I just mail the check in and that's it? Is it a done deal? Anything else I need to do?

Yes you can just mail in the check. That act is also an admission that you are/were guilty as well FYI. If you contest...better be sure that you can win other wise you will be paying court fees and crap.

It takes maybe almost 1/2 a year before the insurance company picks it up. Actually it whenever they renew and review your abstract.

Other than that..the only thing that you need to do is drive safer or make sure that the cops arent around if you are going to do something like that again.

Yeah, that's the one. Was going home after paying the water bill at Sat. city hall. Ah, that's what I get. I do that illegal U all the time. I guess it's about time I got caught. Just praying about the insurance situation.

Ah, I need a drink. This situation pissed me off. lol

Anyone got some good drink suggestions?

I'm not a big drinker. Any good sippers? Not in the mood for beers. Don't want some grey goose right now. Oh, what kind of rum do people use when making coke & rum? Can use anything? I'm a noob when it comes to the types and mixing drinks. I just drink em.

Your insurance may or may not go up. I believe they would need to pick you account for an audit which they will review your record. So I assume as long as you don't get picked your insurance won't go up. If you have GEICO, they forgive the first moving violation.
