Keep OEM Exhaust when going aftermarket?

I'm looking to get the Stillen exhaust installed by a local shop - I was wondering if I should request them to give me the OEM exhaust back? Is there any value to the OEM, or any reason why I'd need it in the future?

-Chris

there's always market for sedan people to buy your stock midpipe or when you
want to sale your car, you can install your stock exhaust back and sale your used Stillen exhaust. Either way you still can make some money for your stock system

I would definately recommend keeping your stock exhaust. When selling the car you may want to part out your aftermarket exhaust and stick your OEM back on. Many different options.

I have kept all of my OEM parts . . . Just in the event that my aftermarket parts present themselves to be in question over potential warranty work. Other than parting out your aftermarket parts, if you ever plan on selling your car, there is really no reason(s) to keep the OEM stuff.

Yeah, get it back and keep it just in case you need it.

Ok, next question - will the stock exhaust fit in the car? (Pref in the trunk only?)

Thanks!

i don't think it would fit, i mean it extendes all the way from your headers/ or cats (very front of car, about where you put your feet) to the very end (past your truck). theres no way. plus its bound to rip your leather up and get it all dirty.

I have always kept my stock parts, just in case I break something... so I can keep the car running without any down time.

I had to take my OEM exhaust back in two trips...and it took a little work to get some of the parts to fit right...only put them in the trunk and you will have to put your rear seat down...you could always call a friend who has a truck, or just rent one as another option.

HAha I wouldnt even bother getting the car dirty with the stock exhaust. Get a buddy's truck or rent one from home depot, its like 15 bucks for the hour.

You can package the OEM exhaust in 3 sections. The Y-pipe, mid pipe and the muffler section. I use 2 large plastic garbage bags for each of these sections after I installed my HKS on a friend's lift. I dropped the rear seats and put the Y-pipe section in the back. I slid the mid pipe assembly forward into the rear passenger compartment. The muffler assembly needs to go into the car via the doors. All of these sections fit quite nicely with plenty of room left over. Oh, and I had tossed my OEM sway bars hehind the driver's seat for good measure, as well. Be sure to tape the bags closed tightly.
