Stillen Exhaust Gen 2

Whats going on guys? So i own a 06X and am really contemplating on purchasing a Stillen Gen 2 catback but dont really know how loud it is. For the people who own this exhaust on there sedan please help me out. I do alot of highway driving and am nervous of droning. Also, how much louder is it going to be than stock? Thanks

Gary,

I have a Gen1 on my 03.5 6MT and love it. It's a bit louder but now the car sounds like it means business! I've gotten a lot of comments on how good it sounds and not one comment that it sounds like some cheap tuner's coffee can exhaust. Great quality and great fit too...

I'd buy a Stillen again in a minute...

The 1st generation Stillen Exhaust does have a mean sound to it, problem is it also has a serious highway drone to it. I ended up replacing mine with a Nismo exhaust.

From what I've read the 2nd generation is not as loud and the drone is not as bad, but it sounds like there still is a slight drone when crusing at highway speeds...

If you're worried about droning - this exhaust is not for you because it will drone especially during highway driving.
I have a Gen.1 exhaust and it was really fun in the beginning but quickly wore out its welcome over time especially during highway driving. If I were to do it over again, I would not get this exhaust.

hard to compare g1 and g2 unless you've had both right?

I guess I am weird but after 45,000 miles on my stillen Gen 1. exhaust I still love it and always get people telling me that my car sounds the best of any import (one was from a Z06 Driver). I mean the sound is just intoxicating like no other. I hear the drone sometimes but it don't bother me at all, usually because I am making over 70mph.

Thanks for your input guys... I usually keep my stereo up when cruising on the highway so im hoping i wont hear it over my music. Also do you think stillen offers some sort of money back guarantee. Like if i dont like it after the first week or so i can get a refund? lol...might be stupid question but def would be nice

I have the gen2 exhaust and a buddy of mine has the gen 1, the gen 2 on my 05 6mt sounds excellent.. maybe a tad loud at highway speeds but as long as you aren't giving it too much gas it's great! can barely hear it... so much so that if you just keep the rpms below 3k most people (in my experience) think it's stock and the car just sounds great!

I rode in G35_TX's 05 6MT and he has the Gen1 stillen exhaust and it sounded awesome and got compliments on it simply pulling into a parking deck. I didn't notice too much drowning since the induction noise sounded so good too :-) I personally listen to music on highway anyways and could deal w/ it, I'm still looking for a gen1 for sale since it seems the gen2 isn't as loud / sounds similar to stock from what I've heard.

I have the gen2. I replaced the resonators with seamless mufflers to get rid of the drone. There was major drone under load - enough for non-sport passengers to be very annoyed. Now the sound is still very sporty, but no drone.

Stillen been on the car for about a month now, still love it everytime I turn the motor over. Got compliments from many enthusiast. Excellent fitment too.

A bit louder, but not in a there's-3-loose-nut-bouncing-around-in-my-coffee-can rice kinda way but quality-sport-tone-that-sound-expensive kinda way. If that make any sense.
