Question Intake and Exhaust Questions....

First some details on my car. 2004 Coupe, 6 speed, Z Tube. Not much huh???

If I am reading everything correctly this is a NON Rev Up engine, 280 hp. Am I correct in this????

On plenum spacers. The Motordyne web site claims approximately 11-13 hp with a 5/16 spacer and 12-14 hp with the 1/2" spacer. Am I correct in assuming that all I need is a spacer????

Which spacer should I get???

The MREV+ is just a modified NON Rev Up lower manifold?????

I've read about lean conditions after the spacer install. How lean are we talking here????

If it is lean, is there more power to be found with a chip?????

As for the exhaust, will a test pipe only make the above mentioned lean condition worse????

I love the sound my car makes now, will test pipes just make it louder or will it just add a ricer sound that I SOOO despirately want to avoid????

Who makes a reputable MIL eliminator??? I need to pass emission test and I CANNOT have a check engine light on or monitors that have not been run.

I think that is it for now, thanks for the help....

Give people more time than just over night to respond. Sometimes you get responses right away sometimes it takes a day or two. There are some very technical people on this thread, do some searches for what you are asking for and you'll see that (although I'll admit the search function does suck a bit )

MREV: https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...highlight=mrev
Read through that thread and it should answer some questions you asked.

Test pipes: https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ght=test+pipes
That'll clear up some of your questions on test pipes.

You should be able to find more than the two threads I listed but those are just a couple to start you off. Good luck.

Sorry.....

I've read all those posts. Thanks for posting them again.

Some of the other searches I've done mentioned a lean condition after installing the intake spacer. My thinking is that if the exhaust is unplugged the lean condition will only get worse. Is the lean running problem THAT bad and if so is it easily fixed by an inexpensive chip. I don't want some big bad laptop type deal here...

I'm no expert in the matter but from what I've read I haven't heard of running lean with just the spacer. Most have stated that if you use the MREV2 AND the spacer on the NON-revup engine you'll be running lean. I'm pretty sure the ECU with sense this and pull timing so as to prevent knocking. I have yet to read of or find an "inexpensive chip" but that's all relative to what your budget is. UTEC runs around $850+ (i think) plus cost of tuning if you don't want to ( or know how to) do it yourself. Technosquare can do a reflash but I'm pretty sure you have to mail them your ECU. THere's also unichip.

The MREV post I listed talks about and shows dynos of a NON-revup engine running lean with the MREV2 and spacer combo. I also met someone local here that is running that combo on a NON-revup without any major problems.
