Need for cutting exhaust?
I am getting my Borla exhaust on Tuesday and I just wanted to know if I need to actually cut off the old exhaust or does it just unbolt? Also, how difficult is the installation? Please give me any tips. Also, I have no access to a lift.

Naw, No cutting is necessary. It will Un bolt in 3 sections The front Y Pipe, The Middle section with Resonator, and the Muffler section. Remember to save the Small Round Ring Gasket. It's not too difficult to install. You can do it if you have a Floor Jack and jack stands. That and a Good Socket set, Oh A Breaker bar helps make it easy to get the Bolts off.. Good Luck!

I did it with just ramps and while it wasn't that easy it was that bad either. I'm not the most mechanical person BTW but I didn't have any problems. It really speeds things up to have a second person helping. The second person is especially helpful when removing the muffler section, they can support the weight and pull back while you remove the rubber hangers. Some WD-40 helps free the exhaust from the rubber hangers as well.
It worked best for me to start toward the front at the cats and go back toward the muffler. If you start with the muffler you will not have enough play in the system to fit the the last pieces in. Also, make sure you slide a clamp on each section before connecting. This sounds obvious but there are a lot of clamps and I left one off by accident and had to go back and take it all apart to get the clamp on. If you have any more questions just let me know and I will try to help.

See if you can get ahold of Brett Labree at Labree Motorsports. I don't have his number but there is a thread (the borla group buy) that should have it in there. Its been a while so they might all be gone, but last I heard he had three left. I don't think I am supposed to quote prices on here, but it is significantly less than $750.

MNDZA. No cutting bro. As a matter of fact I saved my stock exhaust and attached a pic.
You can see the 2 flanges in the pic: One just behind the muffler, and the other between the 'Y' pipe and the resonator.
Mine was up on a hoist to do the removal and install. Not sure on how it would go on the ground. Good luck.

Re: Need for cutting exhaust?
MNDZA, i installed the exhaust w/ a friend in his driveway, we used 18" rhino plastic ramps to hoist up the rear.
It took about 2-3 hours, but thats because we had a rain delay and power outage that day.
Basically, the stock bolts are on VERY VERY tight. So you need to kick the socket wrench with your foot in order to break loose the bolts if you are using the ramp method.
However if you are hoisting your car up at a shop, then you will need a breaker bar (or any hollow metal bar) so you can get good leverage on that socket wrench.
