true dual gives most hp gain. but translating to perfomance. I dont know with the added weight if it actually means going faster.

Singles will never give better performance over true dual

Plus, they look awful on G's

Just the facts.............?

At least two years ago one of the better magazines
had a install of the true-dual system from Stillen.
He advertises a 18 hp gain but this magazine put
the car on a dyno and it showed 14 RWHP...not bad!
A 14 hp gain is good for a bolt on, so the next thing
is sound.......Stillen...Borla...HKS...Magnaflow all
sound better than stock....your choice!

custom is always risky........you have to have the right design to make the right power

Most of the duals out there loose low end and get it back at about 3K-4K - that's the problem.

The Fast Intentions Intimidator system looses it's low end at 2100 and gets it back 2200 - so no realization of loss of TQ in the band. When combined with our testpipes - the system gets 20HP and 18TQ - and that's on CA cars!

Check it out at www.fastintentions.com

But honestly - an exhaust can also only work as well and the rest of your mods and design of your goals with the rest of your car. So keep all of your goals in mind - FI or not? NA build...etc. Design it all together, so you don't cancel out one mod's advantages by putting another one in. People do it all the time.

That exhaust actually looks pretty good. I have a question though. I see after the cats there is a muffler almost acting like an "H" pipe. Is that correct or does it go straight through? If it is, what is the purpose, and why didnt you just continue straight pipes to the rear?

That's a perforated x-pipe...for balancing the system. X pipes are more efficient in 6 bangers than H pipes - and they handle things like drone and pulse cancellation much better. In this case it is perforated, which adds to our tuning.

I see, i have the HKS exhaust and as much as i love the exhaust it definetely has a drone sound. It also doesn't have the "X" pipe either. Thanks for the info.

No problem - keep in mind, just adding an X pipe to a system, or a perforated X, wont solve other system's issues. The system has to be designed to pass and/or cancel out the pulse. The key is the muffler(s) design in the end. Companies put in resonators and other 'masks' to cover their flaws in design or cheap mufflers, or extra thin pipe, that actually cause bad resignations and drone itself.

Personally I think the HKS is a very well built system. High quality welds, and pretty good fitment as well. I personally do not like the sound at all or the huge tips, but that is my taste as well.
