*POLL* Test pipe-Do you like it or regret it?

I am planning on getting resin. test pipes from FI. I am getting either way but I just wanted to see how everyone likes them. It doesnt matter what company you got if from. I am interested in seeing how people like them, hate them or don't care.

How is the power-low end and high end.
Sound quality (rasp or not)
Fitment
What brand you have
Any regrets & why

If you have a TT they are not bad at all because the turbos keep everything quiet but otherwise they are just too loud and raspy for me.

I think your biggest mistake is spending $60....

you will get a rasp at about 3000 and 6000 rpms on a stock engine.

good power increase and about a 10% gain in milege (if you stay out of the gas.)

I ended up doing a custom exhaust later, and it got rid of the rasp.

how do you guys get through the inspection process for emissions? (not even talking cali/CARB here - just the tailpipe test? Or do they just do the OBDII scan and if that passes it's ok???)

Thumbs down not worth it

I would never get them again. I havnet had them on my coupe, but i had them on my is300/altezza conversion and they just screwed everything up. i had to get new o2 sensors and ended up taking the stupid thing off. it was just a waste of time. if you going to go- go all the eay and get a hi flow cats or something just dnt waste time geting those crappy test pipes on ebay

No inspections . I could run straight headers if I wanted to.

Today, I had fast intentions install their resinated test pipe. The install took just under an hour. Tony, at fi was one of the best installers I have ever met. He made sure that everything was perfect. I have a greddy sp2 and after the install there was some vibration because there was more flow. One of the mufflers hinges that goes on the rubber holder was rubbing with a metal frame. He took care of that for me really quickly. I would recomend fast intentions always. Thanks Tony and everyone at fast intentions.

It's simple. If you put just a pipe in as a test pipe you will end up with rasp.
A resonated test pipe or high flow cat will not rasp. (cat may a little depending on the quality).

The FI test pipes I doubt would have any rasp given the quality and sound of the rest of the exhaust. No rasp whatsoever.
