Full Exhaust question !

Just wondering what exactly makes up our cars full exhaust system??? cuz right now i just have a greddy sp2 exhaust. so is that just the 'cat-back'? If i was to upgrade full exhaust i would need headers, test/race/y pipes and a midpipe??? is true dual exhaust better? Basically i just want to upgrade performance without goin FI.Thanks guys

im no expert on FI..but from what ive read on these boards it seems that true dual is a better setup for FI...someone correct me if im wrong please..and as for the cat back exhaust the greddy sp2 is just what it says it is...from the catalytic converters to the end of the exhaust..thats all you are replacing...to do the "full" exhaust i believe you would need to start with headers, then test pipes/high flow cats/then the cat back exhaust...true dual setups tend to take away low end power in favor of some top end gain and a different sound...

naturally a true dual would be better because it will breath easier. the "cat-back" means that the mid-pipe is included, so you wont need that. im not sure if the SP2 includes a Y pipe, but lets assume it doesnt. you'd need headers, test/hi-flo, and a Y pipe. attatch that to your SP2 and you have a full exhaust.

OR... start over and go with a true dual, and that way you dont have to buy a Y pipe either! is the performance difference going to be worth the money?? im not sure, someone else will have to help you there. but i would suspect it wouldnt make THAT much of a difference.

I have the greddy sp2 and it is an axle back (only the muffler). If you want to go with a full exhaust it will have everything after the cats. Y pipe or h pipe depending if you go true dual or not. You should do a search and find out what people that are going with tt or sc are using.

a good place to start is looking for ones similar to the Nismo weldina, it includes everything beyond the cats, so Y pipe + mid-pipe + muffler = full exhaust.

When you start getting headers and test pipe or highflows you are treading in thin water with drivability and noise. Basically without FI you want to retain the backpressure for low end torque, if you go true dual and test pipe you will lose that in exchange for high end power like top speed run.

Testpipes and high flow CATS do nothing to change driveability, and just about nothing to loose low end torque.

Low end torque losses are more likely seen with headers added to the mix.

Our true dual losses low end torque from 2100-2200 RPM, the lowest range in the industry from what we have seen on dyno's and our R&D. You can see our system and dyno's, clips and pics at the site at http://2www.fastintentions.com.

You can also check a number of reviews on this board from members who have installed the system as well.

We also have a GB going on now for our high flow CATS.

Feel free to PM me or ask questions on this thread if you like - or search out the other threads for answers...they are out there.
