I run AEM and like mine.. the sound, performance... all of it. But everyone has their own opinion. Either way, a CAI is worth it.

You got some data you can prove otherwise that they don't do squat?

Stillen CAB only way to go + Ztube - you can pick up used for a good price and the sound / whistle is worth it (and the benefit of a K&N reusable filter). I noticed a few more mpg gains in addition to my dyno increases w/ Stillen CAB + Ztube + spacer - I need to get a scanner one day.

I have the Injen and love it however I am changing it to the Stillen set up or JWT because of the charger. I have heard that the long tube creates to much turbulance and you do not get a gain until higher rpms and possibly loosing low end torque. I think the Stillen set up gave a good gain through the whole rpm range. Ask G35_TX or do a search. He has debated this many many times already and has been discussed thoroughly. But of course everone has there own opinions, just depends on who backs them up.

Yawn, same worthless dyno you always post. As usual, no real backing. One dyno out of 10+ that show gains. His dyno had a problem and it was posted in that topic or his car had a issue. Plus, you need to at least put 100 miles of hard driving for the ECU to learn.

Now again, WHERE IS YOUR DATA that support YOUR CLAIMS. Not someone elses.

Russ,

There was nothing wrong with this car. The dyno plot is very smooth and is a perfect match for every other FM VQ35 out there. He said he reset the ECU and that the car had been driven for about 5 days. You're the only one that thinks there was some sort of "issue". The only issue I see is that this legit before/after dyno doesn't support your argument.

The sound alone is worth it :-) I enjoy the "whistle" sound which I use to pretend to have a turbo - although one day maybe it will be a real blow off value

I think the CAB does minor HP gains - no bolt on is going to give you 100hp other than a SC. However it all depends on what you are looking for - dyno or no dyno - if you want to say look at me I have a CAI - you will do it. Why do people need heavy rims, because they like they way they look - get over this dyno this dyno that crap - it's really annoying and its just like comparing manly appendages to see whos is bigger - get over it if you have someone who likes it then shut up

But the point is intakes are marketed has making power. It seems crazy to me that people are willing to spend $200-300 on something that basically equals a noise maker. If you want a loud induction noise, then add the Z pipe and remove the Power Duct cover.

Dave you ever watch any informercials? How many of those are marketed to people and don't do anything other than take your money? I know my mom bought some Oxy-clean - it did absolutely nothing - and that stuff isn't cheap. Again marketing for making power - but I bought it for sound and reusability. Simply put a conical filter offers more surface area versus a flat K&N - so the noise will be better. I tried taking off the Power Duct - it didn't do that much IMHO - so I bought something that would and now w/ my exhaust sounds awesome. yes I killed my luxury car but I have a pretty sweet sports car now.

As many times as it will take People need to understand both sides of the intake debate. Sure, some of intakes may gain a couple HP here and there along the powerband, but doing a calculation for power under the curve shows that the intakes make hardly a dent in terms of true power gains.

Most people seem to just like just noise and don't care about the power. If that's the case, then there are other and much cheaper alternatives.
