nismo exhaust

anyone know the differences between the 350z weldina and the g35 weldina??? my local dealearship has a good deal on the 350z but said itwas impossible to bring the g35's in.

i've heard our cars are about 8" longer. anyone fit the 350z weldina on the g35 with an 8" extension made??? or should i just have a muffler shop bend me all new tubing and try to find a nismo muffler?

anyone know how much this would cost to have the extension made or the new piping bent?

If you want to use the Nismo exhaust you will need the 8" extension from Performance (or other venders) which goes between the mid-pipe and the muffler. Then you will also need the tips cut off and a 3" extension of 304 stainless added to the bring the tip to the correct distance out from the bumper.

i had the nismo. best sounding exhaust for the money. you do need the extension but no you dont need to cut the tip...I like the hidden look. It looks like its completely stock as in the stock looks pretty modded for how far the tips come out. But do it if you want. I traded it with a friend for his stock exhaust bc i wanted to sell my car before. But it is awesome for its money.

i assume youre talking about the performance nissan deal for 850? but you have to buy the g35 extention which is only 6" long whereas the g is 8" longer than the z. therefore, the tips on the z are shorter will fall short 2" on the g so you will have to extend your tips too. otherwise, your rear valence will turn black from all the exhaust.

its only a 6" extention hence why the exhaust will fall shor two inches and be hidden like IvoryGT's

oh yeh, and fujitsubo makes the nismo exhaust (confirmed by brian at mynismo)

so you might as well just get the fujitsubo legalis r because thats basically the g version of the nismo exhaust. its just as cheap too i think..

No I'm sorry to disagree since I have the exhaust on my car, the 6" extension is actually really 8" from flange to flange. The muffler itself also need to be modified and 3" extensions must be added if you want the tips to exit to their proper placement. 3" is the exact size because you need to remove the tips from the Nismo exhaust by grinding off the origional welds, add 2 1/4 304 stainless, butt weld one end of the extension to the tips then have the new tips overlap the existing muffler pipes, adjust then tack weld. One placed correctly remove the muffler and seam weld all around. Pics available on request with all dimensions. Of course if you want the tips recessed and your bumper blackened, then you do not need to add the 3" but the midpipe extension is 8".

my bumper was no more darker with Nismo as it was with Stock. So your speculation really have no real life representation. But of course, each to his own needs. I just dont feel like its worth all that trouble for tips. I was going for sound. Other wise I'd gone with a true dual or something.

IvoryGT,
No offense intended. I just found that I run a little rich (like many others) and I did not want the hasle of always cleaning the rear bumper. I do like the idea of hidden tips just not my style on my car.

ive been talking to the guys at perf nissan. and ive seen around 5 different g's with the nismo exhaust and all fell short even with the 6" extention. im just stating what ive read/heard.

the guys at perf nissan confirmed for me that fujitsubo does indeed make the nismo exhausts and are extremely well made..

they told me the legalis r is equivalent to the nismo..but its for the g..

hope this helps..

and true, i dont have first hand experience..but this is just the info ive come across..

btw both the nismo and fujitsubo are suppose to be just slightly louder/deeper than stock..which is exactly what im looking for..

im looking into the legalis r and the tanabe touring

Bringing life to an old thread but...

I noticed that some shops don't want to touch the stainless steel exhausts...why is this? Not experienced just afraid to mess up the exhaust or are there "real" drawbacks (i.e. weakens metal, prone to cracking, etc)?

ALL JDM NISMO WELDINA EXHAUST PARTS FOR THE 350Z and G35 HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED. None have been sold or shipped out by nismo japan since January 2007--verified by many reputable japanese vendors.

I don't know what you mean about shops not touching ss exhausts--They do it all the time for welds and what not. Now a titanium exhaust--if I was a shop owner--I wouldn't touch that--lol. There's no reason why a shop wouldn't want to touch ss exhausts. And, any 350z exhaust, even w/ the 6 inch extension for the midpipe, the tips will come up short b/c the stock 350z tips are shorter than the G35's.
