Other CAI make your G hydrolock and blow up, so make sure you have a fire extinguisher if you go the other route

Also, if you're driving through areas with puddles that deep, then just get an AEM bypass valve and slap it on your CAI intakes! NEWBS!!!!
From my stand point.... in theory, the Stillen intake should have the best gains. Less piping, quicker throttle response, no sacrifice on low end. The Stillen air box keeps the heat out, and alows cool air to flow through. The air temp may not be as cool as the cold air induction style intakes, but its not going to make much of a difference once it runs through the intake arm and plenum. And if you're worried that much about air intake temps, then a person with a short ram/heat shield style intake can always make a "ram air" from the lower vent and guide the air up into the air box. With that being done, a long tubed cold air induction intake setup will have nothing over a short ram with heat shield.

Others stating about hydrolocking and the such.. yes it's possible for people with Injen or AEM to get into trouble with puddles. But seriously now, who's going to be wanting to drive in 8" puddles anyways? I would like to thank you Silverbolt for actually explaining to the thread starter as to why (further, in proper detail) the Stillen might be the better intake for you.
Like I said, I'm not saying that the Stillen isn't good enough, nor is the Injen better. I've heard great stuff about Stillen and I love my Injen. Yes I could suffice for the Injen because it hardly rains in SoCal. Regardless, I don't drive in puddles, one. And if I have to, I'll go towards the puddle and put it in neutral, and let my car coast through the puddle. I've been through many puddles that way and my car is fine. God willing, I could keep on doing that and it'll still be fine. I don't mind doing it, so it's okay with me.
Look what you started thread starter guy.. look what you started lol.
what?

?? Your car is not going to hydrolock and Freakin blow up. I have a CAI (as well as 1000 others, 1 of the 1000 have hydrolocked) and drive through around 6 inches of water almost every other day from the rain here in florida, and poor drainage infront of my home. I never have had anything happend....If you plan on driving through a ****load of water and going into the ocean i would not worry about your car hydrolocking...

and besides AEM sells the bypass valve seperately so any CAI can have it provided the tubing is the proper size.
