Test Pipes?

Hey guys...im looking into getting test pipes. What's a good brand that isnt loud, but a good price, also with a good amount of power gain. Basically....which is the best bang for the buck? Keep in mind...i love the stock exhaust note...so i dont want it to be too loud or anything like that.

I have Helix, they do the job. Basically all test pipes unless resonated are the same, it's just a straight through pipe.

In terms of noise increase, it will be present. Also prepare for some rasp. Can't really avoid it unless you go resonated.

You wont go wrong with Fast Intentions. We have a Fall Sale going on now on the Marketplace under the exhaust section as well.

Let me know if you have ANY questions. You can check the website as well under the G35/350Z section at www.fastintentions.com

Fast intentions do have good products
+1 on the test pipes (resin.)

I have the resin. test pipes and I did get a power increase. Noise is going to be hard to get away from. On any testpipes, you will get rasp depending what you have, increase in sound and smell of gas.

If you are going with test pipes go with fast intentions. Best quality, great guys and great warranty.

Just make up your own mind before you just listen to others. There are benefits and there are going to some downfall. ie: smog check, increase in noise and smell also its illegal.

Good luck and let us know what you get and a right up.

+1 on fast intentions. Besides great gains, they have the best customer service I've EVER come across.

You kind of get used to that smell of burnt gas, though it can't be good for you.

Both Labree and Fast Intentions are in the upper $300's. I've seen some that are in the mid $100's. Is there that big of a difference?

Yes - you'd likely be looking at resonated vs. non-resonated...Rick

Anyone have any experience with the Megan Racing and T-Pros ones? They're both resonated right?

^ yup, i just put my Megan resonated TPs on friday. very very nice! i put on fiberglass heatwrap as to help with some of the rasp. what ive noticed is this.. if you drive right away when you first start the car, that is the noisiest they will be. after about 2 minutes or so (warm engine) they quiet down a bit. although you WILL hear them all the way thru the RPM range (and at idle) its not that bad. then again, i have MREV+/spacer and CAI, so if you dont have those, you may get a different result.

I got a pair of these on the way...

Resonated pipes shipped for <$90 sounded good to me, I will post a review and cell phone video clip in a week or two when they get here.
