Is styrofoam in cats dangerous??

I just recieved my used Random cats today. When I opened the box, the cats were filled with styrofoam packing that must have gotten in there when it was shipped. I think I got all of it out, but there may be some small pieces stuck in between the "filter" part of the cats.

Could this be potentially dangerous? I am worried that it the styrofaom may catch on fire or something.

I would try to get that stuff out of there with some compressed air from the other side. They will burn and leave carbonized crud stuck to the ceramic matrix and possibly restrict flow. Random should seal their cats in a bag so that crap doesnt get in there.

Probably won't matter since in 2-3000 miles you can expect your R/T cats to implode ^_^

Yep, happened to me too. The RT cats were one of the first mods I did to my coupe. They looked great, made my borla sound meaner, and added a little gain on the dyno...until one of them imploded. Those were the stainless steel version, not sure if they still blow up with ceramic cores that RT cats has in ther cats now.

I now have the fast intentions high flow cats with ceramic core. Can't wait to put them in...
