Ok ive been trying to research alot on which intake i should get. I live in florida where theres puddles almsot everyday, especialy during hurricane season so forget about a cold air intake, im looking for a short ram. I need a suggestion on which brands are good, i heard injen is good but cant find any short ram intakes made my injen. Can someone please tell me whats good, a good brand and anything else i should know for precaution. Also if theres an install guide can someone hook me up Thanks alot for all the help

I'm sure this have been discussed many times on other threads but how beneficial is the z-tube with a drop-in stillen intake is compared to the others? I was also doing some research on some short ram intakes but after researching, I realized that many of the members on this forum uses the z-tube.

I have the injen intake and customized it for the winter...Took off the long tube and bought a weapon-r filter.... Here are some pics.... But i'd have to say i'd rather have stillen because i have to keep changing the long tube in the winter... BUT injen sounds awesome at WOT w/ the longer intake tube...
Like my red NOS lines... LoL... Not to get off topic... Grounding wires don't do ****! ! !

The Z tube is pretty much the upper intake tube... If u can see on my pic it would be the shinny injen tube; that is wat a Z-tube looks like... And water can get into anything, but it's alot harder to do with a Z-tube and pop charger... Just watch ur driving.... Injen and AEm have a higher risk to get hydrolock...

I have this secret i did with the injen intake... I bought the weapon-r filter and connected a tube to the end of it so i can get ram air...(Got tube at Kragen's) Then Zip tied the tube to the bottom left air duct to help air flow... I dont know if it has helped ...

u know those type of tubes create air turbulence(spelling?) which cause uneven air flow to go thro the intake, throwing off your MAS which is responsible for reading how much air is going in and match it with fuel... if ur getting choppy readings caused by air turbulence u could be loosing power...

the inside of the tube is kinda like this ^^^^^ and as air passes over those ridges it gets all uneven and choppy... it may sound bas *** because of the huge amount of air being put into the system but in some cases maybe not urs it can cause a powerloss... research something called an air sheild they sell a kit for it at autobacs, it composed of flat surfaces to prevent that problem...

I dont think it's that big of a problem... I think it helped out... I ran a 13.9 with the tube... Before it a 14.0... SO... That can tell u right there... Plus the trap speed was higher...

Yeah, if I had a set up like that, I wouldnt drive through waterfalls anymore... and no more racing submarines

In order for him to suck water with that setup and filter, hes going to have to have the amount of preasure of a jet engine turbine! lol!
