whistle question

first off i know it is normal but i really do not like the little short whistle sound after installing my Injen CAI. What exactlt causes this and can it be helped?

some people put cai's on just for that sound, the only way that i can think of that would eliminate that noise would be to put the stock intake back on..

The sound is caused by the open air filter, the whistle exists when its taking in air i believe. correct me if im wrong

yes, that is correct. that sound is your cai taking much deeper breathes than with the oem "power duct" (more like power reducer). You'll get used to it after a while... if not than try modifying your G tube or somethin.. idk... shoulda considered what you would be buying before you bought

all aftermarket intakes whistle. Short rams, and cold air induciton intakes. I'm not quite sure what exactly is causing the whistle, but its normal, and normal with some other cars too. The only semi fix I've been able to come up with is to get an exhaust, and/or high flow cats. Now your exhaust will be alot louder at the points of the whistle (4k rmp) and you wont be able to hear it over the mean modded G35 growl
