no one has done a DIY for this. I don't daily drive my car. So I guess when I get my headers I'll do the DIY for you guys. Shoot I've done everything else by myself. even swapped a motor on my other car.

Keep in mind it also depends on the Headers. I hear the Crawford ones are the most involved according to their instructions online. The Stillen ones, which are similar to the Nismo/DC Sports variety are a little easier and (according to Stillen's instructions) only require the installation and removal of the header throught the bottom of the car.

The shop that uninstalled all my mods before I sold the car was able to uninstall my headers without a life. I'm sure it's possible w/o a lift, but it'll be a b!tch for sure!

EDIT: I had Strup headers....

I'm pretty sure the engine has to be pulled or nearly pulled for the Crawfords

depends, the Strup Headers does NOT need a lift, and the gains are real nice. You should definitely check them out in the marketplace, I belive partshipperdave sells them.

not unless you are super duper skinny. Of course you will need a lift.

hey guys - yes, ideally, you would want to do this install using a lift, so you can comfortably get under the car to get at all the bolts, and be able to easily move aroud under there. It is a tight fit, and getting at some of those header bolts can be a real bitch - knuckle busting if you're not careful.

If you don't have air tools, you're best friend will be the racheting box wrenches - you'll want to definitely get one in 14mm size, since that's the size bolts holding the OEM manifolds on the block. But I'd recommend getting a set of them, have at least 10mm, 12mm, and 14mm sizes at your disposal.

You can do this job on jack stands, but it'll just be more difficult and time consumming, as you'll spend a lot of your time under the car. Get yourself a tool jockey so you don't need to keep climbing out to get the next tool you want!

Yes, we do sell the Strup headers, and have them going for only $479.95 with free shipping! The Strup headers do NOT require you to lift the engine or lower the tranny in order to install them. And they come complete with the hardware you'll need and step by step instructions. It's not an easy job, but there are proven gains to be had by doing this mod, and as many people have come to discover with the VQ35 engines, it's hard to get any serious gains without Forced Induction!
