Header Installation Difficulty
Hello, thinkin about getting some headers but I hear the install is very difficult. I just searched but I couldnt find any straight answers. Do I need to have a lift or could it possibly be done with ramps/jackstands etc... thanks a lot.
unless you know what youre doing i wouldnt do it myself. but thats just me. header installs are generally very involved which is why shops charge from 300 to 500 to install. one shop quoted me 1600

+1. The shop that installed mine said he didn't know how anyone could do it without a lift. If you can get a quote of $350-450 for a shop to install, do it. Halfway into it, you will wish you did.

I installed mine without a lift. I used jack stands, air tools with various angles & attachments. Took about 8-10 hours across 2 days. I installed headers, cats, & pulleys all in one shot with my brother. The headers were a PITA. It would've been much easier if I had a lift.
Well, high-flow cats go in place of the OEM cats, which are taken out for the header install regardless, so you're looking at a savings of about 30-60 minutes from the pullies...
Im installing strup headers with jack stands and no air tools.
took me 5 hours so far, and I only took out 5 nuts on the driver side header.
It's really PITA.... should've droped my g at the shop.
It'll be way easier if you have air tools IMO
