Awwwww. Exhaust Problem.

Just got my invidia exhaust from my friends 04'.

I put it on my 03'. Had a body shop swap em'.

2 hours later, smoke is coming from my engine.

Who figures, probably just burning oil or whatnot.

2 hours later I gased it and stop. Smoke is coming from under the intake.

Im thinking the catalitic converter or something.

Then I remembered the body shop sprayed something on to loosen the nuts.

What you guys think the problem could be.

Damn, that doesnt sound good. What color is the smoke? What does it smell like? How much is the smoke? Pop the hood and see if you can find out where its coming from.

Okay, I'm reading what you said again, and I'm lost.

It started smoking 2 hours later? Or did it stop smoking 2 hours later? Or did it start and stop 2 hours later?????

What part of the intake is the smoke coming from? It might be electronical, since theres really nothing that would smoke at your intake filter area. Check your headlights and wiring.

Alright. Here it is. Smoke is a little. Under the intake. Everytim I push the car.

No Check Engine Light. Smells like brakes. (very little though)

Smokes everytime I punch it then stop for like 10 minutes.

It was only after the exhaust. I know its something with the exhaust. But don't know what.

Where under the intake? Under the filter? Check your fender lining. It might have been popped out and rubbing against your tire. I cant see how your exhaust would make your motor smoke all the way up at your filter.

Me either, just a guess. Yea under a SRI intake filter. What's "IT" might have...

How would I fix it, take it back to the install place.

I wonder what they have to say about this. No smoke anymore but this horrible smell, like burning up brakes or some ****.

Turn your stearing wheel all the way to the right. Look in your wheel well of the driver side wheel and check your inner fender lining behind your driver side headlight. Check to make sure it wasnt popped out and touching your tire. What might have happend is that it was popped out for some reason and just barely touch your tire. But if you gun it and put your car on heavy load, and at high speeds, your car squats lower and your tire would have touched the inner fender lining where it was popped out and rubbed it untill it burned a hole right through it. It would explain the funky smell, and the smoke under your intake area. Update us and let us know if thats the problem.

I think its the spray that they sprayed on the nuts to loosen them. When i used to work on my dsm and i'd do a turbo change i'd spray that shyt alot and it would smoke for a while till it was fully evaporated. Or maybe its a minor oil leak...

But why is it coming from under his intake filter? His cats are way in the back of the engine bay.
