i did just the pop charger with heat shield over the weekend and it
sounded good, had better breathing up high... almost reminded me of
vtec at 5800rpm+.

today, i picked up a used Z-tube for $30 at www.ultimatez.com,
installed it, and took her out for a spin. mid-band torque gain is
noticibly higher with a nice grunt. i lost torque down low... like
crawling up a driveway is now a little bit of challenge for the motor.

Did not affect drivability at all in normal driving.

nice mod for less than $150. i suggest you check with the 350z
clubs and stores for a used z-tube. no sense buying a new one for $70+.

well, it needs more rpm than 1200rpm to pull up now where as before,
i could just tap the gas and half-clutch to crawl into my garage. i know
my own driveway and car... dood.

hey guys, i got my popcharger from a buddy of mine but he didn't have the metal bracket that holds the popcharger in place.

1.) Is it detrimental to not have that piece of metal bracket holding up the air filter?

2.) If it is detrimental, where can I get that piece individually?

3.) Does anyone know what bolts and washers I need to hold the heatshield in place to the MAF? I think my friend lost that too. If someone can tell me, I can just go to hardware store and pick it up.

4.) Does anyone know what washer and bolt I need to hold the MAF sensor housing in place to the air filter? My friend lost that too and I'm currently using the stock bolts. They don't fit all the way into the air filter metal piece because the stock bolt is too long. Anyone know what size?

Thanks guys =)

True, but most people with the "bling" tubes have said that the heat soak isn't really noticeable at all. Did you have a different experience?

okay, you need that metal bracket because if it doesnt hold your whole assembly you are gonna rub and move around...if you rev up high your car you can see the engine move so you are risking damage around that area. now the bolts are 10mm head. but i dont know the depth...if you are unsure just bring the assembly with you and test it out...at the hardware store.
