Ztube and Pop Charger Question

I see the following auction on ebay.. not an ebay shopper but found this info.. is this correct? I am looking for a deeper more vocal sound, not a pssssssp ... also, is this true about the metal and the plastic?

For those of you who bought this setup.. where did you buy it? What brand? Is there a package with the 2 you need? Is installation an easy thing for someone who does not really do engine work on there cars?

Thanks guys,
Chris

NISSAN 350Z Z-INTAKE TUBE

Hard Plastic Factory Intake tube off the 350Z (New Part) This Z-Tube is what makes the difference between the 287HP 350Z Motor and 280HP G35 Motor

The Z-Tube alone adds a true 6.5RWHP. When combined with the Pop-Charger you gain more then 9RWHP!

Why is this set up better then a "Cold Air Intake"

This intake system uses a combination of Factory Parts and Jim Wolf Technology Parts. The Z-Intake Tube is Plastic and does not heat soak like metal intake tubes. Less heat means more Horse Power! The Pop Charger Heat Shield has a cut out to use the front air intake scoop as well as draw in air from the front of the bumper.

This intake gives you a Roaring sound from your engine bay as well as a "PSSSSSSSSP" sound when hitting the throttle.

+1000 for performance nissan

they are great guys, no joke

install is very simple and self explanatory

you can also check out their site at mynismo.com where you will find the same package

as for hp gains, thats just advertisement that everyone uses..this mod is for the sound

also, there are two versions of the z tube. the oem z tube made by nissan and the z tube made by stillen. the stillen z tube is cheaper. and there is only one jwt pop charger.

and this is the package you need if you want this setup. it comes with everything you need, the ztube and pop charger.

I got my ztube and k&n filter from everythingg35.com I beleive but I recently replaced the K&N with a popcharger. I ordered the PC from intense motorsports about a month or so ago. Intense Power is the way to go, theyre great guys there that take care of you quickly and kindly

As for the noise, yes. The PC roars! Calvin, wanna give your input? After 5K RPM, it sounds like a bear under the hood. Check out the review I wrote.

Thanks for the feedback guys..

Is there one ztube over another that is better to buy? I have seen the metal ones? Is there any truth what they say about metal vs plastic?

Extreme.. nice review.. I see you said installation was a bit of a pain for you.. how long can one expect it to take to do the install? Any special tools needed?

Guys, I assume with the pop charger there is really absolutely no need to worry about hydro-locking?

Thanks...

Chris

anything other than the black plastic ztube is for bling. i.e. carbon fiber and polished z tubes

No special tools are needed. Just a 10mm wrench/ratchet and a screwdriver.
The only PITA part of installation was the heatshield rubber pieces. They just took some time to get on, but once theyre on, theyre not gonna come off easily.

As for hydrolocking...no way. No worries unless you drive into a lake. The PC with a Z-tube sits in the same area as the stock intake box

Thanks Sezki... I was actually about to order it online when I saw a post about the STILLEN Hi-Flow Cold Air Intake and Ztube package... https://www.mynismo.com/products/?ID=3072# any thoughts on this guys? or is this just one of those debatable things that are pretty equal and can go back n forth till the end of time?

Thanks,
Chris

intakes are intakes. they are sound mods only. the stock intake is already great so its very difficult to improve on it. just get the ztube and pop charger IMO

oh and +100000 for the guys at performance nissan! great guys!

its debatable. but not worth the debate. if anything you will gain like 2 more hp which is marginal
