Installing Motordyne 5/16" Spacer
Installing Motordyne 5/16" Spacer
Guys,
Any tips/info that you can give when installing the MD spacer? I am going to do it this weekend. It also came with the ISO-thermal gasket, and I know that adds a bit of time to the install. Anything to watch out for? ECU reset (I doubt it), any help or tips is always appreciated.

Take your time and dont rush it. Make sure you double check all your steps. The install is pretty straight forward, especially with the install instructions motordyne provides. good luck.

ya, it was actually quite easy! Just take your time... don't try to rush. If you've never worked on this engine before - like me and my friend - it still shouldn't take much longer than an hour assuming you have all the tools you need. No on ECU reset.
Pretty easy though, just be ready for tons of bolts and remember where they all go.

remember to disconnect the battery when you start.... or else you'll have to do idle learning... mine got messed up because i didnt disconnect the battery and then unplugged the throttle body wire
1) take your time
2) be extra cautious so as not to drop any of the bolts into the engine bay
3) be careful not to get the rubber gasket that surrounds the oil fill caught in between the spacer & plenum (like I did
)
3) don't overtighten the bolts (you can crack the spacer)
4) once you've put in all the bolts & tightened them, go around again to be sure that all are snug (you'll find some that are loose now, because the others were inserted & tightened)
ENJOY IT!

Going in Sunday, along with my Stillen Z-Tube and K&N.
Any sound difference?
I should feel a performance difference, right?
Can't wait. The NY Giants have a bye week, so I need something to do.

When you say Stillen, do you mean Stillen Intake? I highly recommend installing each part independently & driving the car in between each mod, to see what each one does...I know you'll be anxious, but may be worth it just to compare. If you put them all in at once, you'll feel/hear a significant difference, though it'd be like a band all playing @ once, and you wouldn't be able to tell who's playing which notes
. Maybe drop the Z-tube in 1st, then take her for a spin & hear the roar between 3-5K RPM's...then put the K&N in, take a drive and then the spacer...just a suggestion.

i agree with jimmyc13, if you put all your mods in at once it just kills all the fun... i gradually put in the z-tube and k&N and i was like WHOA and then 3-4 months later i ordered the stillen CAI and md spacer... the first say i installed the stillen and i was in love it's def worth th emoney and the next week i put in the spacer and i was even more in love... i need an exhaust now
