im pretty sure this has been beaten to death, but if i remember correctly a cold air intake showed a loss on a dyno... just get a z-tube with a K&N drop in or a pop charger, search there are a lot of info about this

are you seriously gona tell me that NISMO would develop a cold air intake for our car that TOOK AWAY power instead of keeping it the same and just adding sound.....no way a CAI takes away power

these cars are very sensitive to intake air temps. the ecu will pull timing very quickly at elevated air temps.

my choice is the stillen air box. Looks factory but sounds like the popcharger!

If you have an 05 or 06 6MT, the z-tube won't make a difference in sound.

its pretty loud but cai's are loud too..But I am an advocate of the popcharger +ztube its cheaper than the stillen airbox and tube..

^^^nismo CAI has a bypass valve.....btw, im just talking about the nismo CAI cuz i refuse to believe that NISMO would develop a product that DECREASES performance in a nissan vehicle.

i doubt theres a big dif between nismo and other CAI, there has been dynos where it did show a loss, im not talking a 20hp loss but a minimal loss

CAI make more power at speed, ram-air effect. Especially when you knock out that piece of foam behind the bumper cover, now the filter is in the air stream. I've notice that she respond well going from 80 mph part throttle cruise to WOT. Haven't perform any scientific test to prove my hypothesis, just an observation. Since most dyno doesn't have wind speed correction to the wheel speed, ram-air effect is not realize.
